DoG's Top 100 Test Bowlers Countdown Thread 100-1

Hmm at least 7 bowlers in the top 50?? Not bad. Too bad we (wi) probably won't have any more for who knows how long...
In addition to Hall, I think these 7 can't miss the countdown: Marshall, Ambrose, Walsh, Holding, Garner, Roberts, Gibbs. So at least 8 in all.

Edit: Gibbs already appeared.

Maybe ian bishop might make the cut.

Did I miss Colin Croft in the 51-100?
Did he have a good enough record to bake this list? He didn't take a huge amount of wickets and nor did he have a great average. He has a reputation but statistically I'm not sure how good he was.

He'll be talked about long after Peter Siddle is forgotten......and he made the list.

Didn't he average like 23?

If frank Tyson and stuart Clark can make this list then I'm optimistic about colin and ian

Indeed. I must be mixing him up with someone else. I thought his average was 30.

I just checked. I'm mistaking him for Benjamin. My bad.

Turns out that Croft had a very similar career to Harris/Reid. 27 tests each, low 20s average, 110+ wickets ( >4 wpm).
