Could be a hilarious WC tbh. Maybe an eight way drawn series. England canít win a WC; India and Australia play badly in England; SA choke; Bangladesh arenít up to it; WI wonít field a team due to player disputes; NZ havenít got the team at this stage and thereís more money in Pakistan rolling over.

India have the best one day record in England in the last decade, they are better than England.

Well actually the result against England isn't all that great. :P

Do you have examples of the type of players you mean?

There is a hint that Gibson wants the batting line-up to be deep just like England's ODI team. He is on the hunt for dual-cricketers.

Phehlukwayo, Morris, Pretorius have been used. Frylinck and Mulder debuted vs Bangladesh.

I don't think Steyn and M.Morkel will make the WC squad for this reason.

I think Morkel could.. but probably not Steyn. I Ngidi is almost a guarantee if he continues bowling half decently.

Maybe. I think Tahir at 11 with Rabada 10 is what they looking for. But who knows how Tahir holds up over the next 18 months. Luckily Shamsi is in fine-form and Mahraj fits the dual-cricketer thing if need be.

The other Aussie who i think debuts is Jhye Richardson. Played T20Is last summer when the Test squad was in India, so a good BBL is impoetant.

Anyways, bit too early but if things remain relatively unchanged India should be favourites. Won't have the burden of playing Ashwin, Kuldeep/Chahal are coming on fine and we've got a great record in recent tournaments in England with very similar personnel. Hopefully Dhoni can pull his weight.

I also eagerly await the two constants in these tournaments. One being the group stages being rigged to include both India-Pak in the same group and two being SA losing another knockout.

So it's clear that the Top 10 ODI sides have qualified for the World Cup. The last two spots will be competed for between:

    Zimbabwe
    Ireland
    Afghanistan
    Netherlands
    Scotland
    Hong Kong
    Paupa New Guinea
The top two teams of the ICC World Cricket League Division 2 - to be held in Namibia in Feb 2018.

The qualifiers are going to be held in Zimbabwe in 2018. It's shaping up to be really interesting tbh. I expect Afghanistan to make it through, Ireland/Zim favourites for the second spot, but any of the 4 teams below them can pull off an upset on their day. Should be exciting.

They have given Ire/Afg test status even, can't they give them direct entry in the WC and make it 14 teams.
