I love how England seem to play 2 warmup games these days to prepare for a 3-match series.

Keiran Powell has been recalled after, it turns out, hitting 3 List A hundreds this year. Which sounds normal until you find that he only has 3 list A hundreds, meaning that he actually played his previous 5 years of ODI cricket as a specialist opener having never actually hit a domestic ton.

I think I'll give this a wide berth as we will be inundated with one-dayers when the Champions Trophy starts.

Quietly looking forward to this series, which is unusual for a piddly little ODI tournament. Our One Day cricket has been terrible for sometime now, but our recent domestic tournament was of a surprisingly high quality, was played on decent pitches and featured double the amount of games.

It therefore follows that our ODI cricket should improve over the next year or so. It is an insanely young squad though, without even Narine, Samuels and Bravo's experience. Evin Lewis, Powell, Shai Hope and Rovman Powell are very exciting batsmen though so I'm really hoping they can put up a decent performance. This is definitely the new generation of West Indies cricketers, let's hope they do themselves justice and play fearlessly.

England could score a whole bunch of runs with their aggressive approach against our bowling attack so I imagine England will win but I'm hoping they are pushed very hard.

Interesting to see Shiv's son Tangerine playing against England today. Buttler and Billings missed out but the others got decent time in the middle.
