nair and somerville have bowled nearly half the overs and there's three pacers (of which one is Copeland!) plus moz. if he enforces the follow on i will kill him

and why the **** is Floros batting 9?
Hasn't scored runs all season so he's found himself demoted below Neser, who himself was supposed to be a batting allrounder when he first came onto the scene.

This whole Floros captaincy thing with him playing a specialist bowler batting way down the order has gone full Chris Simpson on them really.

QLD are ordinary away, bat for the draw.

Probably could have gone for Cutting over George really and maybe former Australian representative Nathan Reardon ahead of Steketee.

Happy to see him back but makes no sense to me to see Patto playing fc whilst Cummins is still on restricted duties

Surely the latter has enough cricket behind him this season

Probably done with T20 on his mind. AFAIK he'll make a comeback after the T20 series.

Good win to the Vics

Good allround team performance, especially with bowlers, the pacers taking out the top order and Nedder's Holland cleaning up the tail.

For SA it was the same story as the last game, bowlers do well especially Sayers, but the batting lets them down.

Love seeing Hartley not out at stumps yet again. I swear he's been not out whenever I've checked the live scorecard throughout the season.

Still wonder why Jaques didn't call for Kuhnemann or Philipson as 2nd spinner, surely would have been better than using Labuschagne as 2nd spinner to Jason Floros of all people. I dare say George was expendable in this particular clash.

Labuschagne looks alright when he bowls despite his horrible record so I can see why they went that way tbh. Agree that they didn't need four seamers though.

Hope Hartley can get us past the follow on mark.

It's ridiculous we're sending Wade to India when we have two better keeper-batsmen in the current shield match.

Totally agree but #intent #sledgingcoach #boofwantstoboofwade

Well done Hartley. Still might not avoid the follow on, but must have surely saved the game. Awesome effort after having to endure 5 sessions in extreme heat. I still think Nev is better, but damn when the likes of Wade and Paine have test caps how Hartley hasn't even played red ball at A level is criminal.

remember when i used to complain all the time about how Paine got a test debut literally 3 months after Hartley was named shield player of the season? (in 2009–10. also ben cutting took 46 wickets that season so maybe they decided to just throw out all the results. fair enough)
