Bancroft once again proving you have to be over 30 to be a non-traitor Australian batsman and do anything of value in County.

Warwickshire started well, could have bowled but went for a toss and batted and now 18-4.

having said that the Yorkshire decision to bowl at Taunton was bizarre too.

More runs for D'Oliveira, great to see. Definitely going to be one of those leg spinners who is actually a batsman.

Always a good sign when a young player is doing it back to back too, shows they know that runs previously doesn't mean they have a safety net for a month or so.

Yeah Brett Dolly has put together some seriously excellent form. Would be a great story if he gets in for England.

Hain has been poor, along with all of our top order this year. We bat to slowly, build pressure on ourselves. Westwood needs to go.

Joe Clarke promoted to bat 3 as well. Worcester building quite the promising young batting line up.

Lancashire struggling now - Jarvis must be ruing the sitter he put down just after the second wicket fell

Good knock from Joe Clarke again. Aggressive player.

Great fightback from Bears. Woakes/Barker with a vital partnership. Another 50 odd would have us well placed.

Barker brings up his ton off 113 balls with a 6. Also gets us our 4th batting point. If we bat the overs we will 100% get the 5th point as well.

Superb fightback.

Lawrence with his second ton up, don't see many absurdly gangly lads with his ability.

Yeah Lawrence came back into form after a quiet start to year. Nick Browne (who should be ahead of his Essex teammate Westley) with a well timed double ton as well. Loading up the pressure on Hales/Compton.

I doubt England are gonna put anyone in who has only played second division cricket and hasn't played lions cricket. I'd be pretty pissed if I was a Stoneman or Borthwick (or a load of other first division openers) if Browne just waltzed right in.

Borthwick played as a leg spinner in an Ashes test after being Durham's 6th bowler the prior year. He has no right to ever be pissed.

Stoneman would be an interesting one. Aggressive player who has had a few good seasons in a row. Poor career record though.

I'm not even saying that you should pick Stoneman or Borthwick or that I like them as players particularly. They both however have scored 1000 runs in each of the last 3 seasons of div 1 cricket. Borthwick has first class tons in New Zealand and Sri Lankan domestic cricket.

You only have to look at someone like Rory Burns who scored some decent runs in the last couple of years in div 2 and the likes of Alex Stewart and Sangakarra have talked up as potential England candidates - and his struggles so far this season in division 1 to see the step up that is there in div 1. To pick someone with no lions or first div cricket will have to be a big leap of faith especially for an opening bat.
