    Interview With A Legend

    Interview With A Legend

On a recent visit to England for the Lord's Test Barry Richards took time out of his schedule to talk to us, and has also made available a couple of copies of his autobiography to CW visitors

Awesome! He came off as very humble and honest here. Quite enjoyed the mankad story in particular.

Great interview - well done. As others have said, he comes over as being a very humble man, whilst also possessing a very sharp insight into the game and so many of the players he has seen.

Interesting to read about Pollock bowling beamers at Boycott, as I'd previously read about him bowling one at Basil D'Oliveira in a festival game.

It's in the biography of Bob Barber that was recently published - although it was Bob and not Boycs who took him to task about it

"I want to raise my hand and say one thing. Those who complain about my love for the game or commitment to the game are clueless. These are the only 2 areas where I give myself 100 out of 100."

If he'd got the answer wrong that one would have ended up on the cutting room floor

Well done Fred, his insights on the Pollocks was my favourite part of a top interview.
