So the rules have got some much needed updating from the perspective of bowlers - Bowlers benefit from ODI rule changes | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo

Batting powerplay has been removed for ODIs

5 allowed outside the circle in the last 10 for ODIs

Free hits for all no-balls, not just front foot no-balls in both ODIs and T20s

Another bit of encouraging news:

ICC to 'tamper' with seam
The ICC chief executive Dave Richardson has revealed that the ICC along with the MCC will commission research into changes to the cricket ball. "With MCC we will be looking at not only bats, but also the cricket ball," he said. "There is a view if we sanction or look at some change to the thickness or the depth of seam it might actually be what we are looking forward to give the seam bowlers a little bit more help, also aid swing and to enable the spinners to get more grip and to spin the ball more if we tamper with the seam."

Hopefully that includes attempting to eat the ball so people like Afridi can stop being ridiculed.

So sides don't need catching fielders in the first 10 overs anymore?

So basically it's 4 men out max for the first 40, then 5 out for the last 10, and that's it? That, and all no-balls = free hits.

That's actually pretty simple and straightforward. I like it.

I do hope they re-design the balls too.

Like the removal of batting powerplay and 5 fielders outside the ring in the last 10

But I'm not fond of the ball tampering thingy...don't need it when we have 2 new balls

Meh you might have a point - but change will give us something to talk about - and I doubt they will change it to an extreme anyway.

One more good thing about 5-fielders outside the ring in the last 10 is that we'll probably now see some spin bowlers specialising as death bowlers.

The definition of wide-ball should be same in limited-over games and First Class Cricket.
Give us reasoning why.

You keep making statements about why this should happen or why that should happen but never give reasons why.

Which rules should be adopted over all forms of the game then?

They already have those.

Unfortunately it's the cheerleaders making use.
Cheerleaders can't catch the ball, because they have pompom in their hands. A fielder jumping with the help of a trampoline to catch a mi**** from a hack will be awesome.

Edit: Lol how are we supposed to spell m-i-s-h-i-t?

I volunteer to help free their arms by holding their pom poms for them, if you know what I mean...
