Good pressure from Southee, but no luck. Lets hope the ball stays swinging well into the day.

Odd thing, because the bowlers have looked probing but I wouldn't say they've looked especially dangerous.

Yeah. Haven't been many freebies, but - bar the odd play and miss - England's batsmen haven't looked particularly flustered.

Terrific test match batting. After the first 3 overs our bowlers pulled up their socks and sent down some good solid overs. But just sound batting has seen off the new ball. Some really good leaves for those who like that sort of thing.

Enjoying this session so far.

With Compton, I would be bringing in a short cover and bowling a full length to get him playing away from his body. Looking for an edge to 2nd or 3rd slip or playing onto his stumps.

The great Henry Blofeld is on the radio commentary now. Haven't heard him for years and didn't think he was still around. What a great guy to listen to :)

Missed a fair bit of this session but have been impressed with Southee. England look like they're going to bat like it's a test match though, which is a little concerning.

Haha, as Glenn McGrath always said - string a few maidens together and a wicket is never far away.
