I don't think its an absolutely bad idea to just keep on batting and declare say 150 in front. We only need 9 wickets, its not completely unthinkable as Scaly was saying yesterday actually and now Taylor is saying.
definitely bat on time now. declaration would have only been a tiny chance of providing a result, my timing would have been 80 behind. without the little nightmare mini session on offer today anymore, do it your way.

Philander was disappointing today with those no-balls. Morkel and Steyn werent bad but needed a bit more luck.
Been a disappointing test so far, none of the bowlers from either side have done great... pitch has got to take some of the blame.

In all fairness if that day hadnt been lost to rain, SA would have been under a lot of pressure right now. They can count themselves pretty lucky.

Definitely liking the idea of batting on til lunch tomorrow, getting 200 or so in front (if possible) and having a crack at SA over 2 sessions. Likely to be a draw, but could potentially be awesome.

I thought Steyn and Philander for 3.25 and 3.6 for best SA bowler was an amazing bargain and this **** **** takes 2 wickets for the first time on an away wicket and Smith decides to bowl himself and ****ing Amla. Raging hard.

I think with one man short they wouldn't have been unhappy with the rain but they also threw their wickets away yesterday and could have made more runs had they reviewed Amla. Bit o complacency probably set in.

Philander's awesome average has creeped up by a point today. Meanwhile Clarke's has gone past 50.

aside from more clarkeh runs
Meaningless ones though. Ditto Hussey.

This doesn't answer whether or not he will be right to face the English attack in England.

Obviously SA bowlers here a different matter with their lack of swing.

What has happened to the Vernon we know? Being ineffective on a flattie despite accuracy is one thing, bowling 2 half-trackers an over completely another proposition.
