Yeah, well as Howsie was saying on Cricsim, the elevation of a freshy like Cam Fletcher was a bit of a wtf for numerous people.

Ben Wheeler & Adam Milne vs. Canterbury - YouTube

Apologies to Albi for reminding him of Bono and U2 there. PM me any riffs that you wouldn't mind hearing at 120% tempo. 120% gets it past Youtube's sniffer dogs.

Nice. Like the flick of the wrist in Wheeler's release and looks like he hit the seam a fair bit. Milne getting lots of outswing with the white ball is interesting too (as was the one he swung the other way).

Yeah, good to see Milne bowling with good carry and swing again. Looks like he's close to being back to full fitness. He still has no clue how to bowl at the back end of an innings. Went for 50 off his last 5 overs.

Cricket: Indian TV riches could be lost to NZ in... | Stuff.co.nz

India look set to shorten their 2014 cricket tour of New Zealand - a move that could potentially hit New Zealand Cricket in the pocket.

The ICC's Future Tours Programme has India scheduled to play three tests, five one-dayers and a Twenty20 international in a tour next February and March - but Cricinfo has reported that the BCCI - the Indian Cricket Board - has been negotiating with NZC to trim the visit.

The website said that the tour is likely to be cut to two tests, two one-dayers and two Twenty20 internationals, as India is due to host next year's Asia Cup.

Cricinfo reported the two boards had reached an "amicable arrangement" regarding the tour has been reached. Indian tours as seen as financial boon due to the massive television rights to broadcast in the sub-continent for host nations.

Yet another summer with minimal international cricket then. Boy NZC know how to draw in the fans don't they? A handful of games per year and schedule them in the rugby season. Winner.

I'm not sure what carrot or stick NZC could've used with those ****s tbf.

The West Indies are slated to play a 1-5-3 tour from early December, so they say. For now.

Some ***y away swing for Milne there. Seeing Wheeler live, he seemed a little bit like Johnson, without that ****ty sling and not as much pace. We need these 2 to stay fit and build fitness over the winter, they both are potentially great bowlers.

Loving the shape Milne's getting there. Every other time I've seen him he's been gun-barrel straight. Looks like he's bulked up a bit too.

Milne didn't look fully fit just before the start of the NZXI game. He was sending down medium pace lollypops for CD at the time.

He looks closer to full fitness now, but honestly he's unlikely to stay that way for long.
Sad, but true.

Cricket: T20, sharp captaincy key to ND success | Hawke's Bay Today

CD will have seamer Bevan Small back in the mix with Adam Milne nursing a quad strain.

Carl Cachopa returns from NZ XI duties although Bradburn says Corey Anderson isn't in his equation tomorrow.

William Young's poor form cost him a place in CD's matrix.

"You have to try to take wickets and Bevan will do that," CD coach Alan Hunt said, adding he was also a classy fielder and a useful tailend batsman.

CD STAGS: Jamie How, Jeet Raval, Carl Cachopa, Mathew Sinclair, Kieran Noema-Barnett, Kruger van Wyk, Tarun Nethula, Bevan Small, Marty Kain, Ben Wheeler, Andrew Mathieson.

ND KNIGHTS: Daniel Flynn, Anton Devcich, James Marshall (c), Cameron Fletcher (wk), Brett Hampton, Daryl Mitchell, Brad Wilson, Jonno Boult, Graeme Aldrige, Brent Arnel, Anuragh Verma, Jono Hickey.

Wow, Milne is amazing. Normally if a player is consistently out injured, it's because of a recurring injury and/or general lack of fitness. But Milne just keeps finding new ways to get injured.

Really feel for him. Must be really difficult to stay motivated towards getting back to match fitness when you know you're just likely to get injured again a few weeks later.

Just remembered this post I made from March 2010.

Adam Milne: 17, and notably quick according to FC stalwart Matthew Bell, Milne grabbed a bunch of wickets in his first couple of games at a good average before the inevitable debilitating injury emerged. Surely one to inspire frustration and hand-wringing in years to come.

Did you find any video highlights of Anderson's NZ XI innings against England?
No, not yet. Everyone can request what they'd prefer to watch on Youtube from that game if it does appear btw, Kippax has good internet atm.

Cricket | Ryder likely to stay 'death' option for... | Stuff.co.nz

"It will be Franky's call but there were good reasons to use Jesse," Kerr said.

"He was comfortably one of our best death bowlers in the T20 and if you are looking for someone to bowl straight and full then he is one of our best."

Kerr said both he and Firebirds coach Jamie Siddons wanted Ryder to do the job.

"He was a bit unlucky. There was a French cut (inside edge) that went for four and he just missed his length on the last ball and Mills got hold of it."

Franklin will have better bowling options at his disposal tomorrow following the return of Mark Gillespie and Jeetan Patel.

They came into the 12 for Ili Tugaga and Mark Houghton, who was unavailable because of work commitments.

The other change is injury enforced with top order batsman Stephen Murdoch (quad) replaced by Josh Brodie.

Tom Blundell remains behind the stumps due to Luke Ronchi's tight hamstring.

He should improve as he gets older and stronger. He has a good action so it's just a case of getting his body through the tough early 20s. Isn't is said pacemen have most of their injury problems in their late teens - early twenties before getting going in their mid twenties?

If we repeat this enough it will come true

Still, that leaves 3-4 more years of frustration for the 5 or so young promising fast bowlers that are mentioned frequently on this forum.
