The amounts he received from the Diamond company, without any formal contract is mind-boggling. Its something really hard to digest.

This whole thing just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. He was a hero of mine for years so I'm bound to believe him until proven otherwise but it's certainly starting to look a little dodgy. Surely though he must have some kind of definitive proof that all these allegations are false? And if he doesn't have proof and/or did actually dabble in some fixing why on earth would he bring it up again like this? He must've known exactly what Modi was going to throw back at him.

Jeez...

It was also revealed that after Cairns' departure from the ICL - but before Modi's January 2010 tweet - that former Australia wicketkeeper Rod Marsh refused to sign a bat to be auctioned for charity that already bore Cairns' signature, as he did not want to be associated with the allrounder.

True, although tbf Cairns did respond to that particular revelation by saying he and Marsh has since made up after having a disagreement. It would seem unlikely that Marsh would forgive him that easily if it were an altercation over match-fixing.

Fun fact: About a 1/2/3 hours before this got revealed in court the cameras used in the Aus-SL game last night crossed to Rod Marsh who was on his phone at the time. Was he ordering a pizza, or spilling the beans?

Beer says prior to meeting when CC was suspended he did not "believe there was sufficient evidence to implicate" him

Beer says "after his suspension more evidence was obtained".

Now moved on to meeting at Shangri La where CC was suspended

When he spotted CC in meeting Beer said "what is he doing here"

Beer spoke to Grieg the following day about "Insufficient written evidence" against CC

Beer: "Tony Grieg put allegations to Cairns which he denied emphatically"

Beer suggested to Hall to speak to Chandigarh players about Cairns

After doing so he had "no doubt about Cairns involvement in match fixing. He was devastated"

ITSTL. Modi takes the stand this afternoon

Assuming that Cairns is proven guilty, what could happen as a result of it,other than serious damage to his credibility?

Or are we looking at a jail term here?

His playing days are over,so he can't be banned. What other possibilities are there?
