Windies - Australia WC semi-final 1996:

2nd SF: Australia v West Indies at Mohali, Mar 14, 1996 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

Keith Arthurton, legend.

Can't really compare that with a two-bit Twenty20, tbh.

What about the 438 game? - shouldn't Australia been able to defend that especially after having SA 1/7?

You clearly have not seen Benaud in full cry.

Benaud

Edit: Actually, this was a pretty bad choke by England too.

Windies in the 96 world cup semis. They had 7 or 8 wickets in hand and just 40 odd runs to make and still lost thanks to Warne and some braindead batting down the order

Pakistan vs India in the World T20. 2 balls and only one run was needed but Misbah couldnt score a single and the match tied.

1999 WC semi between Oz and SA. best odi match ever.

Without a shadow of a doubt, it has to be this match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at Sharjah:
3rd Match: Pakistan v Sri Lanka at Sharjah, Oct 15, 1999 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

Chasing 196, Sri Lanka were at one stage 173/2 with 10 overs to go, and they somehow managed to tie the match
Vividly remember this one, Razzaq WAG

Best moment at 8:15... one run to win, murali sets of for a single, Shoaib malik... one stump to aim at, has to hit and he nails the stumps... simply amazing

1999 world cup, australia vs south africa.

I have the last over on my phone and still can't believe how badly allan donald lost his mind in those couple of balls. Bill Lawry's commentary of it is the most memorable piece I've heard too,.

Should be looked into IMO.

Remember Surrey folding in almost identical fashion against Lancs in a semi-final in the mid-eighties.

Tendulkar in every innings he's played since his last scored a century.

Besides the Aus/SA semi, the game 5 series decider between SA and Pak. SA made 233 and Pakistan were cruising at 198/4 after 40 overs before losing their **** and ending up 219 all out.

That's so awesome. For some reason, I had no memories of that match. What an amazing comeback indeed.

India in WC 03 final worth a shout? It wasn't a choke from a winning position per se, but it was a choke in every other sense of the word. The occasion seemed to get to each and every one of their players, nothing exlempifying it better than Sourav's absolute brainfade at the toss; where he sent a great ODI side in to bat on a flat pitch, in a high pressure game. Zaheer, magnificent all tournament till that point, bowled the most horrible first over you'll ever see. Every thing went downhill for the Indians from thereon
