Shoaib Malik Eligible For Selection

Pakistan news: Shoaib Malik cleared by PCB integrity committee | Pakistan Cricket News | ESPN Cricinfo

Great news.I've always liked the guy (and his wife).Probably the best captain in the country right now after Afridi, and there are rumors of him being a strong candidate to take over the captaincy in the shorter formats since Misbah only wants to concentrate on test cricket.I think he wasn't given a fair chance in his first stint as captain, but he does have the makings of a very good, level headed captain.

Plus more Shoaib Malik means more Sania Mirza, and more Sania Mirza means less porn.

God bless Pak-India friendship.

Although, I always liked the guy but at the moment, his entry in team will be unfair, very unfair and if as a captain then just disgraceful.
His bowling has ended, the only plus point is his batting which also clicks sometimes in LOI matches.

No way he should be made Captain. I don't even want him in the team at all considering his past shenanigans. He, along with Yousaf, destroyed team chemistry and ensured that Younis' reign would not succeed. IMO he's a cancer that needs to be kept away.

Don't know what Yousuf's role was in there but awta and also that he is a real trouble maker. He should be away from the team

Mr and Mrs Sania Mirza can stay in Dubai.

i dont care if he is captain or not to me he always seemed innocent, i mean when he was the captian he was bullied on by others in the team and afridi has always supported him to return back to the team. These two things clearly indicated to me he was innocent of wrong doings

also he is a very consistent batsmen that we need, hopefully he hasn't forgotten to play cricket in one year lol

Malik was one of the lead trouble makers against Younis's captaincy. I don't ever want him to return.
Then how come the captaincy went to Yousaf-->Afridi-->Butt--->Misbah and not to Malik?

The lead trouble maker for ALL pakistan captain's since Inzi retired is one and only Afridi...I have believed for the longest time that the guy is cancer for Pak cricket

lol UC, Cluedo FTW.

IMO his comeback is unnecessary Hafeez has taken over his role efficently and in the middle order i would prefer if youngters like Shafiq or Hammad Azam get a chance over him a deccent limited overs player and nothing more who possibly is past his sell date.

Malik was part of the oath taking brigade. Him, Yousuf and co swore on the Quran to go against Younis. Afridi may be an idiot but at least he isn't a traitorous snake.

OathGate included Afridi, What problem did malik have with younis?? where as Afridi believed that if anyone deserved captaincy it was him and not YK and he had openly said that in several interviews that he thought he deserved captaincy, also did Malik had any spat with YK like Afridi did in WI 2005?

Your last sentence is the most naive statement I have heard from a Pakistani cricket follower but there are plenty of teen age fan boys that afridi has always had.

So I'm labelled as a teenage fan boy for saying that Afridi isn't a traitor to his country. 8-)

I guess only a teenage fan boy would post something like that. Check out my previous posts regarding Afridi and you'll understand that I'm not a big fan of his. He was a rubbish captain and a stupid batsman. Although he was good enough to get into the ODI side, thanks to his bowling.

Malik was also involved in Oath gate and according to Aqib he was one of the main fellows involved. He has also been suspected of having made illegal earnings, and despite being cleared by the PCB, I wouldn't put it past him to have a spot fix. Afridi on the other hand has never been linked to spot fixing and he always gives his best in the field.

Hate Afridi all you want, but he was far from a rubbish captain. He's been our best captain in a while, and probably the only player right now capable of driving the team forward. He's not politically correct,he'll have moments of idiocy, but his ability on the field as a captain is unquestionable.

That may be, but here we would prefer you to keep that sentiment to yourself. You have no idea who is behind the avatar, so I don't want to see you calling posters teenage fanboys again. Clear?
