what a cringeworthy and disgraceful perform from the 'no 1' team.Its amusing how big a difference conditions make.kp jimmy anderson and the like are gods on their pitches but as soon as you take these precious prima donnas from the comfort of their pitches they turn into meek lambs.rsa australia and pakistan are the 3 best sides in that order.

Don't think anyone can actually criticise Anderson's performance, token criticism and nonsense post.

Are you kidding? Your jesting excuse is closer to the mark than your serious one. England were not too ****y; they just weren't good enough. If anything a ****y attitude and someone in the top order actually trying to move his feet and play some shots to take the pressure off was the lowest risk way of reaching the target.

It would have been for five or six wickets down, but the target would have been reached since Misbah always goes defensive as soon as he has the first opportunity. By the the time Broad came in, who was the first to come out with a positive intent, it was too late. Once he fell that was it. If someone with his attitude had come in at first drop then there would have been a big chance of victory.

The excuses - "undercooked", too ****y", "key batsmen out of form or short of runs" or "still adapting to these conditions" - must stop. There is something seriously wrong with England's batting and if it is not cured by dropping players who are wrongly perceived as being undroppable then England can say goodbye to the prospect of becoming a credible number one side. Stuff what the rankings say: as of now England have no right to claim to be the best team around.

Congratulations to the fair minded contingent of Pakistan supporters who have had to put up with so much crap over recent years and are entitled to enjoy this one for all it's worth.

As for England, a few questions spring to mind. Did SA get rolled over like this when they toured these parts? Thought not. Have the pitches for the two tests been absolute minefields? Thought not either.

Let's get real. We are watching in this series the most consistently wretched English batting that I can remember for eons. The lack of any sort of game plan to face these Pakistani bowlers in these conditions is astonishing. Clearly there has either been no planning, or else most of our top 6 haven't been listening. I'm all right mate - my average is in the high 40's and we're number 1. By the time we'd twice rolled over in the first test, they were never going to work it out for this one.

In situations like this, it's a shame that the barmy army are so forgiving. What some of these pampered egos deserve is one almighty lambasting with the sort of abuse normally saved for Patrice Evra by those lovable scousers. The 2005 series in Pakistan was bad enough, but at least there were some instances of quality from our top 5, Some evidence of backbone . As a series, this is down there with the infamous 1992/93 tour of India, and I didn't think I'd be saying that just yet..

England always felt like they were mere temporary holders of the number 1 position until it was given to it's rightful owner(s). :ph34r:

Fine is understating it; they were outstanding. Never felt so sorry for any of our players in the face of defeat, the four bowlers put in a performance worthy of a victory IMO. Batsmen should all be kicked in the bollocks for six days continuously though.
