    Battle of Hastings

There are not enough Battles on this board, so pick your best XI to win the Battle of Hastings. A couple of things to take into account are the damp climatic conditions of the 11th Century and probable damage to the pitch caused by horses. The scoring rate would need to be fairly high as the match would have to finish before King Alfred burns the cakes. Prince William sydrome dictates that real legends cannot be risked.

Colin Milburn & Nawab of Pataudi jnr should be in on the grounds of already having lost an eye apiece & thus being 50% less likely to suffer the same fate as Harold.

    - As featured in The Independent.

"as much a news event as an actual footballer, a worthy stop-start centre forward, but an all-time hyper-galactico when it comes to doing funny things with cars and hats, a player whose signing proves once again that the Premier League is still undoubtedly the best in the world when it comes to doing things with cars and hats."

I still don't know why Dickie Bird isn't to blame for the drains being on fire.
