Except for Munaf for VRV, none of your suggestions make sense.

  • Drop VRV
  • Drop Sehwag
  • Drop Tendulkar
  • Drop Ganguly
  • Drop Laxman
  • Drop Jaffer
  • Drop Dhoni
Yeah that would be ideal imho.....
But for now i think i'd be happy with them dropping Jaffer and VRV for sure. Gambhir and Munaf in the team. I'd drop Sehwag too but there's no other opner in the team. oh yeah Drop Dhoni time to bring in Karthick..... the man has no brain.... how can you keep doing this over and over.

Drop Sehwag, bring in Gambhir, keep Jaffer and make those two open. I seriously hate Sehwags form, and Jaffer was looking good today until he decided to act stupid.

Yeah... the indian supporters no nothing better than to just accuse the umpires. oh i don't know maybe it was all those stupid decisions that went in favour of SA ? 8-)
Not least of all the one that ended the match...
yes i udnerstand the whole bad decisions is all part and parcel of the game and i only stated that it just makes you wonder what the hell is going on when decision after decision is going against you. I think you'd be crying foul play too if you're team lost......

anyway i'll probaly get over it by tomrrow...
I've felt gutted when umpires decisions have cost my team matches, but I've never actually had thoughts of bias cross my mind. International umpires are not biased - period. They make bad decisions - they even have bad games - but they are not biased.

The umpire for that last decision was Rauf wasn't it? Wasn't he the very same umpire who turned the Dhoni lbw appeal down? The one that was absolutely dead stone plumb? If he was legimitately biased, he certainly would have given that - because he should have given it in any rate.

Does anyone like the odds of both openers being dropped and Dravid opening?

I think I'd stick with Jaffer to be honest but it wouldn't shock me if the selectors thought otherwise. The only thing that is really stopping them is the fact that the only backup batsman on tour is Karthik...
Not happening. They won't play Karthik as a specialist batsman in a test match. Well, you never know. **** happens.

Gambhir is on tour too.
Yes I know, but I said both openers. I'm assuming one will definitely go - and I think the only thing saving the second one is the fact that Karthik is the only other spare batsman.

Actually I think we're kinda' overreacting here, this is the same time who, without bad umpiring, got us a win in the first Test.

What about Morkel, has his bowling (and batting) done enough to keep him in the side?

I'm pretty sure Amla will go for Kallis fitness permitting.

Yea, I'd agree with that. Though Karthik couldn't do worse if he tried either.

Regarding Umpires

Guys, we've bitched enough about the umpires. They made approximately 20 bad calls in this test on both sides and importantly gave Dravid out incorrectly twice. They are NOT biased against India - that's simply a ridiculous claim and you all know why. They ruined the match IMO, but our batsmen are primarily responsible for this. If you agree, good. If you don't, good. Let's not harp on the umpiring again anymore right now, unless some bastard comes in and makes a stupid statement. Sounds good. :)

Jaffer won't go. He had decent performance in the second, excluding the stupid shot. And Dravid won't open, they won't even consider it. Gambhir and Jaffer opening next match. Sehwag getting dropped

Time for a humorous statement:

What if we played Irfan instead of VRV. Would we have been able to save the test? :p

10. No-one
11. No-one

Time for another humoruos statement:

What if we played Akash Chopra instead of Sehwag, would we have saved the match, considering Dravid wouldn't have come out as early as he did and might not have gotten out either.

No thats an accurate statement. I've been pushing for his inclusion...now if the selectors would just listen to me ;).

I use to like Chopra. How has his domestic form been?

Unfortunately, the answer just might be 'yes'. That kid is back in Baroda by now anyways. VRV really killed us in this match.
Bowled well without any success in the first innings and presented gifts to SA in the second.
