I'm using Piton, who isn't a wicketkeeper at all (worthless w/k, abys field), because I needed to rest Bromby for an important OD game on Friday. Don't think a single one of my dismissals so far was by him.

The players are off the field for tea.

End of Over 104 (2 runs). Birdy's Boys: 463-2, runrate=4.45
Lead by 174 runs. (The Heath CC 289-10)
Hennessy 16-0-60-0
Disley* 105 (135 balls)
Ingleby 140 (192 balls)

Last Wicket: Esterhuizen lbw b. Hardy 129 (FOW: 263/2)

Getting a bit of a kicking, but should see this one out for a draw, especially as the opposition hasn't logged in for a while and probably hasn't set a declaration target.

All over here, had a day and a half off work, and that's all it took for my boys to put this one to bed.

Cymru Gurgitaters 405/2, Noon 201*, Staton 97, Mohammed 65*
Welsh Wizards 92, Bewers, Cash and Bent 3 wickets a piece, and following on: 19 (10.0), Bewers 5/3/5/7, Edworthy 5/1/14/3.

Another example of it being harder to bat in the mornings. Welsh Wizards were something like 60/3 overnight, then lost 17 for 51 in 29 overs this morning!

Satisfied, if not ecstatic with ratings of Resp/Feeb/Abs - Prof/Resp/Feeb. Can't yet see what's happened with PFLs, which is a tad annoying, as I have potentially five matches coming up, in which I'm going to have to field strong, if not full-strength teams, in order to stand a realistic chance.

Later, Trev

15 minutes to clean up in the morning...

CC Törööö 433 all out (114.5)
Harris 7/80 (34), Goodhead, Wrigley, Maidens all 1 wicket each.

About 150 too much to get a result, I think. Even though the oppo only has 2 bowlers. Very stupid tactics. :D

Edit: Haha. 1/1. Lewis gone for golden duck.

Not too disappointed here, the top three all made ducks (including **** for a first baller and opener Cattermole after 30 balls) but the middle order dug in well. Then not too bad with the ball, could have them all out for ~ 220 tomorrow.
Go on there man. The more you beat, the better it is. We're in the same FC league.

In my game anyway

269 all out in 78 overs, Sandy Snowmen
402-3 in 101 overs, R.Abdul Kadir 194 Gedye 137
120-1 in 40 overs, Sandy Snowmen

Need to survive 8 more overs to get a 3rd days cash and it is badly needed only an 18K gate today and 38K over the 2 days.

I've noticed wickets flying in the mornings too. 1st morning, they lost 83/10 and then I put on 400 for 3 in the afternoon. I lost 7 wickets for 100 runs this morning then they scored 184/3 in the afternoon.

First game, I batted in the morning both times and got rolled both times so maybe there is a correlation?

There is the fact that most innings are going to start during the morning session (the first innings of every match as well as overnight declarations), and this'll weight things a bit as, tail notwithstanding, wickets are going to be more common with the new ball.

However, I do think there's a lot in this game for 'set' batsmen during the afternoons -- they just seem to bat and bat and bat.

Agreed on this.

Saw an innings of 806 by an exceptional against a remarkable bowler + a lot of dross. Admittedly the bloke survived 3 mornings, but that was on H&F & sunny (clouds on day 3). Tiredness during an innings doesn't seem to factor as much as it should.

Well, in my league's fixtures, there are some very noticeable differences in pre- and post-lunch innings (by odd coincidence, the innings starts have sync'd up quite well with the session changes in several of the matches).

1) pre: 182-10 post: 270-2
2) pre: 61-10 post: 111-10
3) pre: 64-10, post: 242-7
4) pre: 95-10, post: 125-9 (less of a difference, but this one's a bit of a mismatch anyway)

I agree that the new ball effect (assuming this is simulated by BT at all) would mean you'd have more wickets on average in the morning session, but it wouldn't explain why the same teams on the same surfaces seem to do so much better when they start their innings in the afternoons.

Might be down to bowlers getting knackered after a day of running in, but if that's it then the effect seems somewhat exaggerated, to say the least. I took 10 wickets in the morning session, and there weren't any from bowlers in the afternoon or evening - just two runouts.

Got turned over badly on the last day. I don't mind losing, but nearer 200 would have been nice. No longer can I just rely on **** against bowlers of this quality.

Looks like they'll be batting on tomorrow as their manager still hasn't logged in. Might be worth my setting my bowlers to attacking/very attacking and bowling them in short spells to try and get some more bonus points for bowling?

I'm thinking he got run out because he physically couldn't move anymore after his legs eroded, considering he only scored 478 of those runs in boundaries
