Doing my best to stuff up an easy game with a bot, playing with a genuine second XI.

Bhopal CC 272-4
Zebras 60-2 off 13

Admittedly the two to go are both mediocre batsmen, but pretty much everything rests on the two in at the moment, and the next man.

I already have a good batting all-rounder so my priorities are to turn him in to a bowling allrounder and as for the nets i have 2 free right now.
If thats the case i would probably go with a bowling and batting net. You could go with a fielding net to get his consistency up, but its pretty hit and miss. It only increases it by one extra pop and the batting will improve his by atleast 2 to 3 levels. In the future is i was you i would look at buying guys with slighly higher consistency and concentration, as it is very hard to improve to a decent level these days. They will do for the moment while your in current divison. But once you get to the higher decent its going to effect their performance a lot.

Also once you get him up to respectable batting i would drop his batting net, as mediorce is a pretty low starting point.

Managed to pull an upset out of me **** today..

Clapo's XI 256-10 (49.3 overs)
Stroud 97 (122), Taylor 78(68)
McCaw 6/38 (9.3)

Thommos Tigers 250-10 (48.3 overs)
Flood 99(124), Barstow 61(90)
Groves 4-52 (9.3), Meyer 2/23(10)

Considering my teams ratings, i must say i'm very happy!!!!

Thommos Tigers Clapo's XI
Top Order: competent feeble
Middle Order: mediocre feeble
Lower Order: worthless abysmal
Seam Bowling: feeble feeble
Spin Bowling: respectable feeble
Fielding: feeble abysmal

Stroud, Taylor & Meyer were the real match winners for me. At 4-88 things looked dire, until Stroud & Taylor put on 151 for the 5th wicket.

It then looked even worse with Thommos Tigers at 1-144, then Meyer was the catalyst for 3 wickest in 3 overs. He first ran 1 out, then bowled another in one over, and then in his next over had another caught from the keeper.

All in all i'm chuffed that i managed to win!!!

Winner! I beat the unbeaten team, making my league look even, even though my team is heads and shoulders above the rest :(

Bobisback 313-4 (50 overs)
Hiller 112 (99), Gravey 104(140)

seabrook cc 265-10 (48 overs)
Vine 80(116), Flood 79(70)
Poke 5-43 (9)

MOTM: Poke (imo, i would have given it to Hiller, Poke took his 5 in his 5th - 9th overs, when the game was over.)

They had a collapse but werent anywher near a win. Both their batsmen that scored runs wages are over 5k, so i assume they're guns :P

Both my openers have tonned up, but they're going more slowly than I'd have liked, will probably end up with 280-290. I'm hoping this means I can skittle them for something ridiculous like 50:

The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 42: 215-1, runrate=5.12
Speight 6-0-29-1

Hello chaps!

I'm new here, having found you lot on Google - I like the banter, but I'm not sure about 10,000-post threads!

My BT user name's Mahindinho, I'm in Eng III.13, and I can't access BT while I'm at work (like now) :@

I do know that I won today's match in under 15 overs, chasing 81 on a cracked pitch - fortunately, I can get the odd update from friends and through my phone.

I'll try to stick around, as you seem like a fairly mixed bunch - are there any leagues not represented on here?

Hey Mahindinho, welcome to CW. Most major BT countries and divisions are represented here, and quite a few members really know their stuff, though if you're in Div 3, you clearly do as well. Should check out the other parts of the forum too, it's a great place.

I.1, II.1, II.2, II.3, II.4... I can go on? :p

Anyway, good to see another 'inho. What's your team name? I checked your league, and none of the games are finished yet.

Edit - if you are Mumbai Maestro, or Bishop Floggers for that matter, you're being lied to. Mumbai Maestro 147ao, Bishop Floggers 0/65 from 13 in response...

Well, I was a beta tester* and know some of the BTs and GMs (and COM_Earl, of course) from Hattrick.

* Mind you, I didn't pay much attention, until one of my batsmen got the first _ever_ BT double-century!

I started in a pretty tough IV league - I think, of the two winners before me, one has one of the highest BTR players in the game, and the other won the English cup. But I can't check right now, and I'm no good at remembering stuff!

Robertinho - I can't check my league number right now...I just get mixed up between HT (III.16 I think!), BT OD and BT FC leagues, having only just been promoted in both games. Try III.14 maybe? Team is Racing Club Longsight.

I must seem like a right muppet

*shakes fist towards work IT department*

LOL... Welcome Mahindinho, you got those leagues sorted there ?? :P make sure you check out the rest of the forums as Andy mentioned!
