So if Woakes has concussion, who is his 'like for like', I guess Curran?

All this time wasting is making me into a boomer. Goddammit, these pansies with their soft helmets and tests.

That used to be one of the most manageable weaknesses. You used to get a lot of guys who sucked at playing the short ball but almost never get out to it. But it doesn’t really feel that way any more.

Just in a better era for fast bowling I think. More properly quick guys like Cummins who can exploit it.

Woakes was properly found out there.

The people who think batsmen always know whether they've hit the ball are the same people who put Dennis Lillee in their all time XIs. We value their opinions too much.

Might be because of Phil Hughes actually. People no longer think it’s fine to have a short ball strategy that includes getting hit a bit.

But yeah, that was really bad. Basically one over of bouncing him and he played almost every delivery terribly.

If Bairstow shows up the rest of your batting lineup, there can be 2 conclusions:
The rest are **** and it's a road.

People still get hit all the time though.

Maybe, but there was a whole strategy for playing it that’s disappeared. Langer and Dravid come to mind as top order guys who mostly just copped it, but it was very common for tail-enders, especially when trying to bat out time.

We know more about concussion now too. That’ll have made a difference.

I don't remember anything about his batting, but didn't Woakes score basically no runs out in Australia? Not sure if that was short ball problem specifically.

Loving the plan to Archer, but has it ever worked to bounce the fastest bowler of other side lol
