Well he wouldn't be appearing away if he is playing in summer when the English season is played!

    PS

    His away averages,

    40.57 batting
    49 Wickets at 31.95

He averages significantly better away with bat (by 6.02) than he does at home.

He (Alastair Cook) and his family are very much the sort of people we want the England captain and his family to be
    Giles Clark
What we are doing here is future-proofing county cricket
    Tom Harrison.
We want to make the game as simple as possible for them (mums and kids) to understand
    Andrew Strauss.

Well he must be absolutely killing them in NZ, probably averaging over a 100 considering the quality he is playing against.

Stokes test batting had come on enormously in the English summer. I was at the Oval & the hundred he scored against SA was of the highest class. He had started to realise how important patience is. He fought his way through to 80 odd with impeccable technique & skill, then unleashed some mighty pull shots to reach the hundred. Clearly our best bat by a country mile when he plays like that. His technique is pure. I honestly think we’d be a far better team with him & he balances the side & is our enforcer. Unfortunately other distractions have intervened & he’s a bloody idiot..!! Disaster not only for England but for the series.

He is not bowling very well but then he is a much better test ('reverse swing') bowler than a limited overs bowler.

Agreed. Same as when England won two tests in 05 against a weakened Australian outfit.

McGrath and Warne played at Trent Bridge. And you could have lost the Old Trafford test.

Australia didnít lose a test when McGrath played in 05. He plays Birmingham itís 2-0 and the series is over. Probably a good thing he didnít as it would have robbed us of such a great series.

McGrath was definitely not fit at TB iirc. I think he only played because they were panicking a little.
do you think people will be allowed to make violins?
who's going to make the violins?

If you are rearranging Ashes according to injuries you'd end up with a rather different Ashes history. England would still have Simon Jones, Vaughan and Trescothick for 2006 for instance. The Aussies would have gotten more out of Thomson.

    Hahaha Spark owned

Think you must be thinking of OT where Mcgrath returned his worst ever test figures ( 1st innings)

But yeah, there was certainly one Test where he played despite clearly not being fit. He didn't look great at the Oval either.

Who will win a test match first.. Eng at Perth or Aus at Trent Bridge?

Neither stand much chance at this moment in time.

Stokes to be withdrawn from ODI squad. Malan to replace him.
