Looks like Willey may get the final pace bowler spot instead of Plunkett. So Roy, Hales, Root, Morgan, Buttler, Stokes, Ali, Jordan, Rashid, Willey,Topley

Think it's probably the right decision because they need someone to open the bowling with Topley and none of Stokes, Jordan or Plunkett really work in that position. You don't win many games when the opposition are 55-0 after 6. Willey has his limitations but he's a specialist opening bowler and often picks a wicket or two up with the new ball (although not so much recently which led to his dropping).

Leaves the fast bowling pretty powder puffy with no real pace which is a vulnerability but meh.

Stokes, Ali at 6 and 7 still isn't great but is less of an issue than ODI cricket.

Same old Roy. About par for his T20. Needs to be doing an awful lot more to be wasting Moeen down at 7 for that.

I don't know who that is. I don't get you comparisons sorry

You surprise me mister. You really do :p

haha well I only know Mal Loye from his one Aussie tour. Not gonna forget someone slog sweeping Brett Lee in the first over of a match

that's assuming you were implying it was a surprise I knew a player you didn't?

Is it just me or is Slater when out of the C9 box actually decent to listen to? Haven't cringed yet from the comms in this match.

Not surprise that you knew a player. I didn't mean that in a disparaging way incase it came across like that. I meant the name Mal Loye. I had never heard of him. I am not sure how many people have to be honest. And you throw in a name like that. This is something expect from PEWS..no one else :p

I actually realized this with Hayden during the Asia Cup. I was about to say that but forgot. He was so intelligent and his analysis was so spot on and insightful. I learned a lot about the game and also how he and the team he was part of used to approach the game. And I was thinking wow this guy is so good when he is not part of C9. I think C9 environment where they kind of treat cricket like this boring game which they have to keep interesting with their stupid jokes and non cricket stories..because lest they talk too deeply about cricket, the audience would zone out and switch the channel. It's more a reflection of how C9 treats its audience and the lowest common denominator it is aiming for than anything else.

Oh come on, even I've heard of Mal Loye...... :p

TBH, he's certainly what you could've called a county stalwart, mainly for Northants, though had a nice spell with Lancs, got that one tour with the one day side, and that was that. Probably unlucky not to have been given a test shot in the 90's, especially given we weren't the greatest side in the world.

Anyway, looking decent here, was about to say Root is having a good knock, when he just does that....
