Marc Robbins - Surrey

1. You have done some great work on the WCC board, what is the best part of the game that has been implemented since you became involved?

I would say the move to 5 divisions. It means all teams are involved up to the end of the season and has been a great move this season IMO.

2. Do you have any regrets about leaving Warwickshire?

Not really.

3. What are your long term goals for the Surrey WCC team?

I guess they're the same as everyone else - to be consistently successful.

4. What players are critical to your sides success?

Not sure any more, since I've already shipped 6 out this time, no-one's been that crucial.

5. After the highs of last season, you have had a bit of a mixed bag of results this year what do you think the reason behind this is?

If I had a pound for everytime I tried to work this one out, I'd be rich. I haven't a clue.

6. Do you have any trading regrets from past seasons?

As it turns out, not getting rid of Bicknell last time. He had a great season 2, but I rejected all offers, but he's been poor and is now retiring.

7. Which other WCC sides do you most enjoy beating?

Anyone at the moment, we've not been so good this season!

8. How long do you see yourself being involved in the WCC board and as manager of the Surrey team?

Why, what have you heard?

9. Do you see the 4 day or the 1 day games more important? Why?

Each have their merits. As a purist, I'd have to say 4 day though, as 1 day is manufactured.

10. Why do you think we need an All Star series at the end of each season?

We get to see the divisions best aganst each other, and it gives the board a few weeks to have everything in place for a new season.

11. What are your hobbies outside of sport?

Music is the big one - I'm generally out playing at least 3 or 4 times a week in the evenings.

12. What type of music are you into? Favourite bands, songs etc.......

I'll listen to anything, but am partial to those bands that actually play their own instruments etc. At the moment U2 are quite high on my listening list.

13. What is your favourite all time sporting moment?

Germany 1 England 5 probably.

14. What 5 items would you take with to a deserted island if you were stuck there for a week?

Beer. Top of the range Computer. CM4. Books. More Beer.
