The next stage of the pre season is about to start, time for the draft.
Its up the the First team manager to email the draft picks for their team, in the email subject title make sure you put which team you manage, we are encouraging first team managers to give their 2nd XI coach an input into selections, but in the end its up to the WCC manager to get the picks in.
Like in previous seasons you need to submit enough picks to cover for the chance that all your picks get taken before its your turn, eg, if you are pick 9, you email me your top 9 choices and if you are pick 22, you email me your top 22 choices.
Prior to the start of the draft next week, all managers are required to realease 13 to 15 players. Each team can keep a min. of 15 players or max. of 17 players. These can include as many rookies as a manager likes. If a team choices to keep 16 or 17 players, they will miss out on draft rounds 5 & 6. There will still be 10 draft rounds this season. All Player Releases are due by next Sunday:

WP Cobras look to Australia again
After the shock resignation for charismatic Australian manager Jack McNamara, the Cobras have wasted no time in signing a new manager ahead of the new season. After receiving offers from all over the world for top job at the FC powerhouse, the Cobras have decided to sign WA 2nd XI manager Thad Bochat. Bochat serviced under WA’s long term Kiwi manager Chris Butler last season. The WP Cobras have looked past his results with WA 2nds were they finished 3rd last in FC and last in ODs. Believing that young manager has something special about him that can take the Cobras back to being one of powerhouses for WCC, the status they reached under former manager Ian Markus. Many insiders feel that Bochat was signed mainly due their preference of Australian managers, becoming the 3rd Australia to take control of the side in the last two seasons. The fans have already stated their outrage, with the head article on their website labelled 'Thad who?' The young manager has some big shoes to fill and anything less then a Top 3 finish, he might be seeing the door at the end of the season.
Good luck Thad Bochat, you got one very hard job ahead of you.
