When world cup 2007 is less then two months away thi will be last world cup for many legends and lets see who will be playing last time in this world cup from the teams

Australia:
1)Glenn Mcgrath : Pigeon will be playing last world cup he has played in 2003, 1999,1996 and not to sure whether he was in 1992 world cup .

Southafrica:
1)Shaun Pollock: He has played in 1992,1996,1999,2003
2)Jaquesous Kallis: He has played in 1996,1999,2003
3)Mark Boucher: He has Played in 1996,1999,2003,

New Zealand:
1) Stefan Fleming: May have the record of leading a team most number of times in world cup. Breaking clive loyds record of leading in 1975,79 and 83,He lead kiwi team for 1996,1999,2003,2007 surely this is hi finsl outing .
2)Scott Styris: he has played in 2003
3)Craig Mcmilan: If picked to play this will be his last world cup appearnce

West Indies
1) Brian Lara: The carribean captain has played in 1992,1996,1999,2003,and this will be his fifth world cup
2)Chanderpaul: he played in 1996,1999,2003 and 2007 will be his last

Pakistan:
1) Inzamam: the hero of 1992 world cup will play his fifth and last world cup he has played in 1992,1996,1999,2003.
2) Mohd Yuduf: he has played in 1999,2003 an this will be his last
3) Shoiab akhtar: Rawalpindi express played in 1996,1999,2003, and this will be his last

India:
1) Sachin Tendulkar: Highest run getter in world cup he is playing his fifth and last world cup he has played in 1992,1996,1999,2003
2) Sourav Ganguly: Has played in 1999,2003 .
3)Rahul dravid: Has Played in 1999,203,
4) Anil Kumble: Has played in 1992,1996,1999,2003 and this is his fifth and last

Srilanka:
1)Sanath Jayasurya:The hero of 1996 world cup will be playing his last and 4th or5th world cup
2) Marvan Atapttu:

How do you know exactly that guys like Craig McMillan, Anil Kumble, Sanath Jayasuriya, Sachin Tendulkar, Shoaib Akhtar, Inzamam-ul-Haq will retire after the World Cup? It's only a possibility at this stage, a strong possibility but it's not definate.

Let's concentrate on the future, rather than the past. It may be the last WC for many legends, but it shall be the first for James Dalrymple, and that can only be a good thing.

Kallis will only be 35 by the next WC and likely still capable of commanding a place as a batsman at least. No evidence to suggest this will be his last.
Mark Boucher is only 30 for cripes sake! He'll be 34 by the next WC and surely still a viable option.
Styris will be 35 at the next WC and McMillan will be 34. It's not impossible that they'd be in the frame then.
Say what? At the next WC Chanderpaul will be younger than Lara is at this WC. At this stage I see absolutely no evidence to suggest he won't be there.

Shoaib will be 35 and a lot will count on fitness over the next couple of years.
38 years old at the next WC. It may be his farewell.
Given that he doesn't bowl with any real pace anymore, I wouldn't write Vaas off yet.
And Murali is a spinner who seems to have a lot left in him. He could easily make the next WC.

Scott Styris a legend?!

Not sure if that is worthy of the skull or not!

By New Zealand standards, and looking at recent form, he's not all that far short.

I know that post was not entirely or at all serious, but some would concur. And that's insulting to Martin Crowe, Chris Cairns and Sir Richard Hadlee, to name three of New Zealand's finest. Recent pickings should not belittle the fact that New Zealand has produced some brilliant cricketers.

For England's opponents.

Regarding modern ODIs (given that the careers of 2 of those were in the more reticent era), there haven't been a huge number of better players for New Zealand than the recent Styris. In his last 75 ODIs against ODI-standard teams, his bowling record reads 4.63 at 28.31. Certainly not brilliant, but not poor for a batting-all-rounder. Likewise, with the bat in his last 68 games he's averaged 32.21, performing well against everyone other than Australia.

I'd go for Astle, Fleming, Twose, Cairns, Parore for the first 2\3s of his career, Harris, Larsen and Bond ahead of him in the 1990s\2000s era.

I think that the OP was suggesting who might retire, rather than set in concrete.

And yet he said "will be his last" several times and also a lot of his suggestions were baseless and ridiculous.

I think McMillan's mention as a legend is would be the most galling to real NZ cricket legends...

I think we have to face the fact that this may well be Paul Nixon's last World Cup too. I can hardly see my monitor for tears. :cry:
