Warwickshire vs Western Australia

Ash Chaulk has announced 2 changes for this weeks game against Western Australia the place that he lives. I Guneratne has been forced out with injury and makes way for J Bradshaw who made 76 in his last 2nd XI game. The other change is Z Kaye has been Omitted and S Gill will take his spot after finding some great form taking 5 for 42 in his last match in the 2nds. The decision to play 5 bowlers seems like a positive for Warwickshire who sit 3rd in Div 2.

The Batting Line up:
Bradshaw, Vernon, Francis, Howarth, Drinkell, Jeffrey, Morris, Jones, Gayle, Rigby, Gill

Dhawan gets dropped

Colts have made their first unforced change of the season with manager Tharmi Loganthan dropping Shikhar Dhawan from the 1st. After a disappointing start to the season where the man that averaged 60 with the bat at the start of season has yet to pass fifty this season, Dhawan has been dropped to 2nds to find some form, so say the Colts management. But many around Colombo feel this could be the end of the road for the Indian middle order batsmen at Hevelock Stadium. After getting dropped as vice captain of the 2nd XI and now getting dropped as from 1st, things seem to be getting worse for Dhawan. Many feel that departure of former 2nd XI manager Thamba Mamesh, who was the main man behind his move from ACT to Colts during the pre-season, is major reason from his dropping in status from the future of the Colts, to being not needed.

The man that will replace Dhawan is Colts juinor Thiru Alwis, who has been scoring runs for fun in 2nds, including a chanceless hundred against Victoria last game. Alwis promotion means that Andrew Symonds will take over as vice captain for the 2nds. In the other change rookie spinner Mahela El Zabir comes in for injuried seamer Upul Gordon. Murali Mudugalle who was vice captain last time Alwis played 1sts, is likely to take the new bowl after his success during the last First Class, with the new cherry. Although there is some suggestion that England Test Batsman Ian Bell could open the bowling with his part time medium pacers.

ACT have announced an unchanged one day side for this weeks game. The team that plaed the recent cup clash against Free State will be given another chance this week, however a similar performance could spell the end for some players.

Karachi make two changes

The first change is that of M Jenkins for P Dharmani. After being given 5 matches and only averaging 12.86, Jenkins has been pushed out the side by Wicketkeeper/batsman P Dharmani who will be given his first taste of OD cricket this season.

The second change is that of C Martin for I Aamer. Aamer was dropped after failing to produce in the cup game as well Karachi looking for a bowler to make a greater impact than the disappointing K Woodcock. Martin is also a useful batsman as Karachi look to bolster their lineup in case of collapse.

Lineup for R5 OD game:
M Manhus
P Dharmani
M Dhoni +
J Cooke *
Y Cole
Y Youhanna
C Martin
J Louw
P Norman
P Leigh
J Pradeep

Western Province Unchanged Again

Manager Jack McNamara continues to expect impressive performances from his middle order, to prove that the occurance of last match wasn't a one-off, as Western Province head into Round 5 of One Day matches.

"Our bowling line-up is steady, and has performed pretty consistently thus far. So the onus is really on the batsmen to stand up and give them something to bowl at."

The same teams will play Auckland which contested the last match for WP.
