If you want to know the score of a player who isn't on the all-time list because of the qualification, or the score of a player between two dates, let me know and I'll give it to you.

Whatever it takes!!!
An interesting trend there is that the top 4, since 2006 are Pak and SL batsmen... Is there a way to factor in home/away kinda split here?

No.. just to understand where the big runs are scored... We have an idea but it would be nice to see if the actual numbers back them up.

Shane Watson is sandwiched between Alviro Petersen and Dan Vettori on the 2006- list...

One thing I'd be interested to see is a measure of a batsman's skill of batting with the tail - perhaps some sort of weighting based on runs scored in proportion to their partner?

Harsh on Vettori IMO
It actually is. I'm sure he's been unfairly punished by the fact that not outs aren't treated any differently from outs. If we fixed that up I bet Vettori would be ahead of Watson since 2006.

Was looking earlier how all of our openers since Strauss compared with this, thought might share:
Code:
Name Eff Avg	Weight
Compton 0.167 44.78
Root 0.283 62.12
Carberry	0.103 31.56
Robson 0.194 49.44
Trott 0.049 17.10
Lyth 0.265 59.84

Cook 0.302 64.41
Was also hoping that Ian Bell doesn't look so great in the same time period, but is turns out his effective average is 53
Actually that's still quite a hit from the 2006-now ranking

Kinda tempted to have a look into something like this for bowlers itbt, quite a bit harder tho

53 is awful though for an established Test player. This is most definitely something that should improve with time. (although of course that may be his lower overall average, but I think it's but poor absolute average and poor conversion)

if only someone had asked you over skype to do another list where this is taken into account...

I like this, mostly because it lines up with my personal opinions on who is better than who

I don't think you can use this as a measure of overall ability as according to the graph, going from 80 to 160 is much more important than going from 0 to 80. It's useful to be able to measure that aspect of batting, but in a match situation going from 0 to 80 is going to be at least as important, and probably more so, than going from 80 to 160.
