World Cup Betting

Just a few random bets I think are pretty good value if anyone is interested.

For no batsman in the World Cup to score 200 runs or more, paying 1.33. For something that has never happened in the history of ODI cricket, I reckon that's fairly generous odds. For anyone that thinks a 200 will be scored, its paying 3.25.

Any team to score 400 is paying 2.00, whereas no team to score 200 is paying 1.72.

I also find it funny that Vaughan is paying $67 to score the fastest hundred in the WC, same odds as Ross Taylor. Considering Vaughan has never crossed 3 figures in ODI cricket, I'd consider Ross Taylor a much better chance.
Typo?

That's very tight if not.

Done pretty well on the warmups and the opening match, really. Got about 75 going in active bets and 30 in the account, from 50 to start with. Did well with a couple of bets last night on Sarwan's innings, and West Indies to score under 245.

Anyway, the funniest bet of the lot: ten Doeschate, Tikolo, Morgan and Nafees to top their team batting, and Johnston, Leverock and Mortaza to top their team bowling. $1 on it, paying $15048.

Jono has the exact same bet, I believe.

Think it all might come crashing down with Johnston tbh.

Would be funny if it did.

Won't be funny to me :@

Must be said though, if somehow that bet does come off, despite all the happiness of winning over $15k, human nature would probably result in me asking myself why I only betted $1 :p

Haha, I have a very similar bet to that actually!

R.Watson, Tikolo, Nafees, ten Doeschate and Morgan to top the batting for their respective sides and Leverock to top Bermuda's bowling. I put it all on the line though - a whole 2 dollars on it.

Ryan Watson let me down against Australia though...

Alright, tonight is an important night for our bet Sean. We need Morgan to fire with the bat for Ireland, Johnston with the ball, and of course Leverock to do his thing for Bermuda with the pill as well.

Yeah, with only 3 games for each of them, every match counts big. No early wickets for the Bermuda seamers, so the chance is there for Leverock.

Ireland going to be bowling first against Zimbabwe, so we'll get a look at Johnston.

edit: Ireland batting, actually.

Is Morgan too far behind Bray? Let's hope not.
It's unfortunate that the easiest game is already out of the way. Morgan will have to play an awesome knock against either Pakistan or the West Indies now, given he's already 90 odd behind.

Pretty much gone it seems. Tikolo came good, but no-one else seems to be. Early days, but as was mentioned, most of these teams are likely to only play three games each.

Unless they happen to beat Pakistan, in which case they'll get another six games to sort out the highest run scorer. :p

Leverock should still top the bowling IMO, and I'd back ten Doeschate. Morgan with the bat is a concern, as is Johnston with the ball. Not sure if he'll get many wickets.

Had an awesome run tonight. Had money on Vaughan, Collingwood, Pietersen, Nixon and Plunkett to get past their starting splits, and they all did. Also had a multi on NZ winning and Smith top scoring in the two games which is looking good.

Just need RtD to have a good game.

Kallis > Smith. Some good bets though, but never against Jaques vs. a minnow... never.

Had Kallis as my captain in Cricket.com.au Dream Team, what a move!

My best bet tonight was getting on South Africa to get past 245 in their 40 overs after being 1/0 from 1 over with AB back in the shed in a multi with NZ to win.

I was tempted to chuck a 5 on England when they were paying 3.40, but ended up not doing so. Was regretting it for a while, and now am pleased lol.

I put few bets on runs off the next over in the SA/Netherlands game, because they kept offering odds above $2 on over/under 1.5 runs, which seemed generous. Missed out on two of them, but won all the others.

RtD had a good game with the bat, and looked a class above all the other Dutch batsmen. Need him to take a bag in one of the later games though, probably against Scotland.

We'll need big efforts from Morgan and Johnston today, as well as Nafees and Mortaza. You'd think if Morgan fails today that's it, anyway.
