Border is 30 years older but still has more hair

de Villiers may be a great sportsman but his hairline genetics are bottom of the barrel

If the case for Border over the real AB over AB relies on equivocating a typo with an inability to spell the topic at hand, safe to say its practically non-existent.

Call me when you can pronounce Abraham. Which will be never, cos his name is AB. Its not Borders fault that his name is Alan Border. He grew into a great player, almost a worthy placeholder of the title of AB before the actual AB came along. But we did get a true AB.
IDK whether this is trolling or not. Probably, certainly one of the most idiotic arguments I've ever seen.

In any case:

Now piss off.

Fmd Abraham is literally the easiest name in the world to pronounce. If we can teach 3 year old children to sing "father Abraham", I'm sure a fully trained, practising lawyer can manage it. Literally the worst argument in the thread.
It is not the English name you think it is, and the pronounciation is not remotely similar. The fact that you think it is shows that you haven't even heard him called Abraham before.

Why... cos he is AB.

He’s a pretend AB. A fake AB. A downhill skier AB. A pick and choose AB.

He’s not the AB.

And if his parents chose to bastardise the perfectly simple and sensible name “Abraham”, that’s on them. And him. Obviously massive try hards, the verbal equivalent of parents naming their kid Taylahh instead of Taylor. Wanker names.

Post the international phonetic alphabet for Afrikaans pronunciation of Abraham de Villiers if you're so smart.

I'm aware. It's different just like "Jesus" in Spanish speaking cultures is different. But that doesn't mean it's hard to pronounce. In fact the English version is probably harder to pronounce.

Haha. I seriously doubt I can pronounce Abraham. The first a is pronounced 'ah', the r is harder, and rolls a little, and the second a is something like the u in up. But its hard for me to say. It just doesnt flow well in Afrikaans, and I havent really heard it spoken since the 90s.

To my credit (:p), i do come from very weak genetics. My mother also has a biblical birth name that is very easy to say in English. But the way she butchers it when trying to say it properly (the 5 or so times I have ever heard her try) is comical. And it it is a much easier name to pronounce than Abraham. Like AB, her real name is a truncated, English version of what her birth certificate says.

You have made 2 spelling mistakes in his surname. Not sure if you could spell his 'first name', but I am pretty much 100% sure you couldnt pronounce it. Its tough even if you speak Afrikaans, cos is a bastardisation of a name that doesnt fit normal speech flows in the language.

Hes been probably the best known cricketer on the planet (who isnt from India) for years now, and you cant manage his first or last name. Why? Cos he is AB.

And there is also the small point that he is the superior cricketer and human being .
I know this is just bullshit, but I don't give a **** about how to spell his name because he's never been that important. Nevertheless, how DO you spell it? That is autocorrect suggests

So, apparently even autocorrect doesnt know AB as anything but AB?

Hmmm...

ok - At least I know where you are coming from now. But that just shows DeVilliers is nothing but DeVilliers, or it would have corrected it, much as it amuses some people to pretend otherwise. A great player, but nothing more.

Easier than Lee? (As in Shane Lee)
