The Viv, Lillee and Sanga stuff is enjoyable too. Nothing wrong with not rating a player and a gimmick can show a bit of personality but it's only fun when it's organic. This subforum just makes the worst posters spam terrible takes. I've got half the people in the poll on ignore but the magnitude of their direness is still inescapable even though I miss 99% of what goes on in here.

PlayerComparisons is basically the Thomas Midgley Jr of this forum as he's singlehandedly destroyed its ecosystem.

No one individual has successfully changed mass opinions on anyone.

Lara has never made a first team here and has never been rated by the community above Viv.

Smith's emergence, and Hutton's over ranking has impacted Lara position more than Sub's rantings.

Though to be fair I have those 3 rated in the same tier, so there's no real issue with where Lara is rated, but he hasn't declined.

Not to mention that Kallis and Ambrose are exactly where they've always been if not higher.

I reckon the only two there who actually care about convincing people are Subs and Kyear.

The greater impact posters can have is when they're trying to elevate players, not as subz has said in the recent past, deliberately trying to down grade players like Kallis, Lara and Ambrose.

Everyone's opinions have changed over time and over multiple players, but seldom because of arguments by others here, people very much stay in their silos.

I would acknowledge the one exception for me would be Wasim, but even that just served to send me where to read for my self.

Besides that, everyone here is pretty much entrenched in their own opinions.

@kyear2 is easily the one who's done the least damage. The more nonsensical arguments he makes about imran the higher many posters seem to rate him because they go through imran's record and realize he's even better than they previously thought.

That's the thing, Imran has a very vocal and unmovable minority that tries to overwhelm the room.

But I guess him easily making the first AT team this time around compared to the last time, and of course his strong performance in the below poll really showed me.



The echo chamber is really strong here, but really more comparable to a circle jerk at this point.

Just because the dissenting voices are as loud, doesn't mean they don't exist.

In any event, I'm not trying to change anyone's minds, when engaged though, I will share my views on his record and cheating. None of this of course means he wasn't an ATG bowler, but in that top tier, or even the next, I and the majority of the forum would apparently argue not.

I rate very subs very very highly as posters but I rare Ambrose as 2nd best pacer of all time and 3rd best bowler of all time, I don't think any poster can change people's opinion on players unless they're new to cricket
