Viv failed in his 1st Series to Imran, and Imran drew a Series in WI and one at home when Viv played. Viv was excellent in both, especially the tour; but to choose I think Imran's achievement is Greater.

Quite young in 54, did alright. ATG in 57 with 700+ runs. Good series in 60 to beat ENG at home. I admit though I thought Freddie played in 66. Him bowling Great in all 3 series, especially at Home...... So yeah, probs him.

makes sense, I'd say Viv had the upper hand in head to head while Imran achieved more.

Yeah I think Freddie won their clashes, 54 doesn't matter, 57 was played on relatively flatter wickets and Trueman outperformed Sobers by a mile I think, 60 was played in Windies and Sobers dominated with 700 runs, 63 was bowler friendly and Freddie had one of the best serieses by an Englishmen in it where he took 34 wickets and kept Sobers down to low 40s average. All In all, I give it to Freddie as the 1960 series was a draw in all games except 1, and in that game Freddie got Garry twice and bowled the spell that set up and won the match, sealing the series.

96 was just a single test.

99 and 2001 series are edge Sachin though though McGrath was brilliant both series and got him out four times.

2004 edge McGrath but Sachin was injured
I will say 99 was drawish McGrath edge (drawish for how shitty some outs were) while 2001 was a Sachin edge albeit McGrath was Great. Won't really count 96 as anything and 2004 much either.

Not sure how 99 was McGrath edge as Sachin was in Australias den and scored a ton, 2 50s and a 45 in 6 innings despite facing an ATG attack and two bad dismissals, and getting a token MOS. He played McGrath rather well that series.

In fact fair to call both draws, McGrath didn't make it easy to score but Tendulkar had hard fought runs.

Sachin had bad umpire calls esp first test when he was set on 61 looking good for century. He was truly robbed that series😡
