Close between Tendulkar and Kohli imo. Would go Tendulkar for the 10-11 tour, the best I've ever seen anyone play prime Steyn in SA

Virat Kohli.

Sachin had the greatest individual tour, but had quite a few moderate tours as well until the last great one. Kohli has always been good in South Africa, and the pitches he has been presented with in South Africa have been much more difficult than the ones Sachin had to combat throughout his career, the 50 average Kohli has in South Africa is absolutely nuts.

Not really, David Warner performance in sa is unarguably the greatest individual series performance in sa

If we are only talking on pitch performances then Warner but he loses 20 points for being the "mastermind" of sandpaper gate so I give it to Virat.

Tendulkars tour is the most overrated. One good hundred. The other one on a flat wicket, after the match is lost.

Kohli and Warner were much better.

Kohli for me. Every one of his tours there all vs excellent attacks he did well to great. Sachin was more of a mixed bag imo: failing here and there but with two great tours. One great vs a very good attack in 2011 and the other vs lesser in 2001. Warner was great there but he did so mostly on the back of one Great series where the other was a failure. Warner is certainly in the discussion though. The best modern player in South Africa though is Steve Waugh for me.

Umm hell to the no. That'd be one of Warner or Steve Waugh from the 90s.

obviously, I meant of the three in the options, if we're doing all time then quite a few options open, like Neil Harvey.
Oh my bad then. Carry on. If you don't mind me saying, you're one of the better posters around here even if we disagree every now and then. Great job!!

Sachin got the same wickets as Australia and England usually do, the reason Kohli's India gets tough pitches is because India gave CSA absolute minefields in 2015 and they've been beefing since.
