No, Marc suggested that, in all likelihood, Bangladesh would win a test match before India won a test series outside Asia.

Way to misrepresent. Who the hell do you think you are - me?
Yeah that's it. Either way, whether we play an away series now or even 2 years later it's, he thinks Bangladesh will win.

Actually, nobody has said that at all at any point.
But looks to me you don't give India a chance outside Asia, given your comment about them not winning in the last 20 years and still waiting, that spawned this entire mess.

It's not about India winning or losing outside Asia.

It's more about waiting to see their improvement over a period of time, their consistency etc.

And thus the 20 year comment to bring forth the point that a side cannot go from "zero to hero" (though those are strong words) overnight.

It's always the umpires...

And that Aussie tail is by no means the easiest to knock over...
In that series the umpires were bad....tell me they weren't. And so what if the Aussie tail isn't easy to knock over, against Kumble their odds are lower. Even if they didn't get Katich, the fact that it was only the tail next is a better way to show you.

Show me where I've said that if India had an away series starting tomorrow?

Nope, if I remember correctly it was a joke response to koch_cha's gentle ribbing of England.

What relevance does that have?

England won that series 3 or 4 years back, so how does that impact the current side of any nation?
No, just the fact that England could pull it off says India can too.

And how long was left at get this supposed weak tail - a handful of overs...

Ok let's get your opinion then. Do you think India will win an away series outside asia, if it was scheduled now?

But then you went on about India's absolutely woeful bowling, questioned all the praise India got for the performance against Australia, and then said some things about them being 'too tired'.......

Yeah, but did the Aussies have a better chance to win it? Or did India almost lose as you said? And don't rule out the possibility of Kumble running through the tail either.

Depends who against - if Zimbabwe or the Windies then yes, but anyone else, I wouldn't back them...

The "too tired" is in relation to cancelling Test Series and playing ODI Tournaments...

The bowing is less related to the initial comment, because threads evolve on here, or hadn't you noticed?

Because right now I wouldn't give England much of a chance against SL or India or even Pakistan.
And a much different side from 3 years ago winning there has what relevance on that?

And it's clear you think Bangladesh can win a test against those teams they are scheduled to play. There you go....Luckyeddie is this misinterpretation? It was just obvious.

Whatever, it is related because that is something which has really improved and can get us to win a series outsied Asia.

A much different Indian side(not composition wise) 2 years ago couldn't win in Zim, WI and NZ and couldn't beat NZ at home last year. Now things have changed a lot and India can win outside Asia.

I have been watching this game for too long to make ridiculous statements containing words like 'never', 'always' or 'certain'.

Witness people on this board who were adamant, even after Bangladesh had posted over 400 against the West Indies, that they would still be thrashed.

Keep dismissing India off, unfortunately you can't be proven wrong for 2 years. But I think India are the heavyweights of Test cricket now after Australia and yes, I have to add, can thrash England anytime, anyplace(not a case of sour grapes, it's a fact). It's just ridiculous how you dismiss India and compare them with Bangladesh and I know what to expect from you now. And the above quoted statement emphasizes how stupid, baseless and ignorant your posts have largely been in this thread.

If there's anyone who has been adamant and ignorant in this thread, it's been Marc.

With the ball moving around all over the place? No way. Sehwag and Yuvraj struggled against average county bowlers last year.

But Sehwag did well in swinging and seaming conditions in New Zealand. Yuvraj is still unproven in Test cricket.
