according to wikipedia the person with the world record for iron lung usage was australian. fitting really. using old and outdated technology in an old and outdated country.
You don’t get the reference do you?

You're the one whinging mate. We're just trying to argue facts and keep a sense of perspective rather than purveying exaggerated bull. It really isn't that hard.
If you want to refer to yourself, then feel free. Including jedibrah and burgey in people who argue facts is rather inaccurate.

nope but i did and am enjoying the wikipedia rabbit hole with all these wonderful eradicated or rare (in the first world) diseases. polio, botulism, ikki. are these still common in australia?

quite. bringing nations together as one better than communism
There’s a very old saying “He wouldn’t work in an iron lung.”

Now I’ve reprised it, I’ve no doubt CW will take it up with gusto.

They've argued more facts than people disagreeing.
You're talking about the guy who held up a protractor on screen to convince himself murali chucked and the 70 year old who's spent the last decade and a half hilariously "trolling" CWers with nonsense rants no one else in real life would listen to.

But OK.

i don't think i'd want an iron lung to save me after reading the american politics thread tbf. some diseases just aren't worth living through.

At least Burgey rants from the one account.

Typical dross from OS here. When Burgey rants, CW listens.

I think the consensus in the US politics thread is you do t get a say whether you are saved or not; the market should decide.

Mate we all "listen" to our senile grandpa's random rants in real life too. It's the considerate thing to do.

believe it or not burgey used to be one of the most outwardly kind guys on here, and not only was he gracious in a match thread immediately after victory or defeat like he still is today, he was gracious throughout the match. this was outstanding class from a man forced to live for literal centuries in australia

i think the indian tour of 2008 was his batman moment, triggering the descent into internet ranting as a rallying point for his fellow downtrodden bretheren forced to eek out a meagre existence in straya. he became their figurehead for their war against sachin FLOPdulkar and all his dastardly friends.

I mean, you lose three wickets in the last over of a test to Michael clarke but it was the umpires wot did it.
