What happened to Vinod Kambli

Blain was clearly just flukey in that tournament, though - Allott bowled magnificently. Sadly, he'd barely played before that and when he did play again after that it'd have been better if he hadn't.

IMO if he'd stayed fit he could have gone on to be one of the top ODI bowlers of his age. Indeed, maybe he might already have been before that Cup had he played more.

Played for Yorkshire for a while then got released by them at the end of last season. Still to find a county this season and not bowling well for Scotland in the FP trophy.:@
With regard to his WC performance, I don't think 10 wickets quite compares with Allott's 20 odd at a far better ave and economy rate

No it doesn't but seeing as he was just starting his career and hadn't done anything of to much note it was a hell of an achievement.

Haha what cheek. And how do you work that one out?.
He didn't really bowl well at all - he just played a handful of matches and happened to get quite a few wickets while going around the park.

Allott on the other hand was accurate and menacing for the most part.

True, Blain was going at 7 per over in some of those games

Ganguly is from a royal family..he was born wiht it
THis is one of the biggest misconceptions about Saurav Ganguly......

He was NOT repeat NOT born into a 'royal' family. His family was wealth y no doubt, but they weren't maharajas or anything.
His father Chandidas owned a succesful printing business.

Cripes, was it that long? Such barely in the same league, then, TBH.
I had to look it up as I wasn't sure whether it was 101 minutes or 101 balls, but yeah for an innings to last over 1 1/2 hours without scoring a run is pretty special.

Haha serious?
Yeah, I only open the batting because no-one else wants to do it though. I have a good defensive technique but not much else, so I open up and make the ball old for the plethora of middle order bats we have. Usually I manage 20 or so off edges or horrible bowling, but I didn't that day. I think I was seeing it *too* well - all my defensive shots came right out of the middle of the bat so I didn't get any edges for runs.

I'm in the side for my bowling, obv. :p
