What happened to big spinners of the ball?

Just been watching highlights of the Aus vs RoW 'test' in Melbourne - the one where Sobers scored his big double. Four spinner across the teams and not a single ball turned notably.

I sometimes wonder how it's possible to turn the ball as little as Kerry O'Keeffe. Like, you have to be actively trying to not turn it.

I remember Jenner bowling well in that match. O'Keefe was a quickish spinner and admitted himself he was never a big turner.

Maybe maybe not. He bowled with good speed and loop and yet on a length all the while under Sobers' fire. Thought him pretty good.
