BD playing crap like the old days probably will continue in all the matches to come. they are only competitive at home. Outside of that they are pure crap

Shami might sit out tbh. Bumrah is the death specialist, and Bhuvi and Yadav might be better new-ball bowlers than Shami. Plus Bhuvi 'can bat' and Yadav's a better fielder.

Or maybe Shami plays over Bumrah and he and Bhuvi share death-bowling duties.

BD won their last ODI, which was against NZ away from home, while England were literally 20/6

**** happens.

Bumrah does tend to leak runs with the new ball. It's happened on a consistent basis, probably because of his slight back of a length deliveries being easier to put away or slash away.

I love Umesh but I will prefer Bhubaneswar right now. Today, Umesh was great but we can see him straying to leg when he is not as pumped up.

Yea, that's why I wouldn't like to see all 3 of the below-

Yadav
Shami
Bumrah

They can all stray a little.. early on.

Which makes Bhuvi a certain starter for me.

I don't quite rate Pandya as a bowler so I would have preferred him not to have scored the runs today, so that he could have possibly been in contention to be left out. Now though he is a certain starter.

Might have been better to have the option to play 5 specialist bowlers. Now that alternative is gone with his knock with the bat...

We need Pandya, the lack of batting depth was the entire problem with the side before he emerged. Remember how many runchases got ****ed up because our top order had to bat slowly because our tail was so **** and couldn't be relied on to finish games? Or how many platforms we built and then squandered because of the long tail?

Hope Mehedi and Sunzumal get fifties here. Would be great for the lower order bats to get some confidence leading up to the real cricket.

hmmm

With regards to whether they play Pandya + 3 seamers & 1 spinner or 2 seamers & 2 spinners.. I believe it should also come down to weather conditions. If it's an overcast day, play the seamers, otherwise maybe bring back Ashwin.

Wait what are all these chases Pandya has finished off after he's 'emerged'? That one fluky innings against England?

It isn't that Pandya himself is finishing chases, it's that his presence down the order has empowered the top order to play with a bit more freedom. Kedar Jadhav being down at 5/6 has helped a lot with that too tbf
