Lara'a inconsistency overall was minor true.

But once you get to series he played abroad, his inconsistency across series becomes more apparent compared to the rest of the top tier. Lara was a bit of a home basher.
Lara played in 20 Test series outside the West Indies (away from home), and scored 250+ runs on 10 occasions = 50.0%. That means on average every second Test series outside the West Indies (away from home), Lara scored 250+ runs.

Like I said above, Lara was inconsistent but it was a minor flaw or "minor true" as you put it. The notion that he was very or quite inconsistent....the numbers don't show that.

Overhyped? Seriously?
He wasn't the best bowler in his own team, Marshall and Hadlee were also easily better bowlers and they could both bat as well as if not better than him.

Every great or even really good player of spin Warne faced took him to the cleaners. India especially destroyed him.

It's really close between him and Imran for no. 9 but Imran gets the edge because he's unique as a spinner, but it can go either way.

In any event he's still top 10 for me.

What was his averages in those series though, not counting one test matches? I think if you compare with the rest of the top tier, Lara wasn't having as quite many quality series regularly away from home.

You mean the averages for the series where he scored 250+ runs?

Although a gentleman in these type of things,(Hammond’s desire for women) many of the teammates, adversaries and even super juniors like Ian Chappell hates Bradman’s personality too..Are these era greats so bad personality wise?

One sided for a reason, Hammond's slip catching is great and bowling was decent (barely AR level), but it doesn't make him catch up to Lara, who's a tier above him as a bat
I have Lara as the 8th greatest bat of all time and Hammond as 9th so I don't have Lara a tier above, he was a decent bowler, judged by Bradman to be almost Maurice Tate level, compared to Sobers by Hutton and highly praised by Alec Bedser and so forth, and ATG slip is just the cherry on top.

Lara's peer rep is probably even more exceptional

Yeah and that's the important part. Hammond being almost as good as Tate is worse than Gupte being better than Warne
I mean, at batting Lara would give you, at most, 1 or 2 more runs on average. I don't think Hammond was close to Tate but he was international class with pace bowling and very good with leg breaks and googlies per Hutton, He would be useful as a bowler on spicy wickets where they both would struggle with the bat, and could be used to bowl quick overs so that main bowlers can rest and get energy, I take that over 1 or 2 more runs more.
