Viv averages 70 against Indian spin quaret/trios on spinny wickets iirc. 121 against Underwood in England and 56 against Qadir on some Pakistani landmines and on a spinny Queens Park Oval wicket.

Vs spin the gap is bigger imo, both are ATG players of pace, not sure about Viv vs spin. If he's ATG vs spin, it would be low level ATG at best for me.
Only Viv is ATG player of pace
Rest of the batsmans are just good not great.

Viv, no contest. Put him against Bradman, and I'd still vote for Viv.

Only guy I would think close to him in ferocity of stroke play and aggression against pace, was Gilchrist.

I don't know where the perception came from that Viv wasn't ATG vs spin. Sachin was better obviously, but by similar or only slightly larger margins as Viv has over him to pace.

Wow thanks for this video,
watching his batting for the very first time , his batting looks very similar to lara.
Lara based his technique and style after Sir Garry. People are beginning to forget how great Sobers was as a batsman alone, he was right up there with Sachin, Richards and Hobbs as a batsman. Obviously I can't rate Hobbs but among those 3.

Vs pace
Richards | Sobers | Tendulkar

Vs spin
Tendulkar | Sobers | Richards

I rate Vivian higher because he batted higher up the order more consistently, but that's it.
