If it's not Boult, it's Southee, if not those two Milne, now Matt Henry puts his hat in the ring for fielding by a NZ fast bowler.

Becoming run of the mill for NZ fast bowlers now.
So Henry is under Donald at Kent? Is Donald their full-time coach/bowling coach? (I know Miyagi is banned, asking in general)

Div 2 is well beneath where Henry should be but 43 at 11s is still outstanding. Wonder if playing under Donald could be the catalyst for him, as it was for Southee.

Wonderful news on the G too. President's Cup golf and NZ v Aust Boxing Day in the space of two weeks, wish I still lived there.

In general, a slightly better looking FTP than we'd been expecting. 38 tests to be played between now and the 2023 World Cup (theoretically at least - I'm still sure that one of the scheduled tests v the Bangerz will get trimmed), around 8 per year. 2019 and 2022 looking to be the standout years, but a horrible dead patch in 2021 where we play just 4 tests in the year and none between January and November (unless we make the test championship final, har har). Could be better, but could also have been worse.

Can tours and Tests still be added like previous FTP? or has the Test championship "locked" in the schedule?

I suspect so, but there's not a lot of wiggle room in the calendar, and we know that peeps like the WICB and SLC have very little interest in hosting us. The only tour I could see being added is another tour of Bangladesh in 2021 - though seeing as we're already touring them in 2020, that's probably a stretch.

Great that the Oz series is 3 tests.

As far as the World Test Series or whatever it's called goes, it's a kind draw for us. Get to play India and Pakistan at home when we'd very likely lose if played away, while we tour the weaker subcontinent countries where are a realistic chance for a win.

It's could be part of the reason it's bare there in June though -- just in case. I suspect all the teams will be leaving that bare and possibly looking to schedule something there later once it becomes apparent they won't be playing that game.

Aus/NZ tests have always been a bit anticlimactic since I've been around.

The Hobart Test of 2011 was good though. Led to a drawn series too.

(2001 in Aus was also a drawn series but that was almost entirely due to rain)

haha yeah, my excitement is tempered by the meek surrender of 2015/16
Yeah, and on paper at least it's likely to be a weaker NZ side next time - though if Taylor can be persuaded to stick around and Boult manages to stay fit I could see us being a tad more competitive.

Strength of the side doesn't really mean much, it's all in the head. The 2011 team was terrible and they won a test, and the 2015ers were much better than Fleming's team yet they were competitive with Waugh's much better team than any the 2015ers faced.

NZ weren't helped by Southee and Boult being half fit sure, but it was a pretty sorry sight that Doug Bracewell was the only kiwi bowler who could land 6 balls in a row on one side of the pitch. We also refused to use Wagner despite him being our road specialist.

Good NZ cricket teams have a really bad habit of wilting against Australia, regardless of form against other sides.
