Rubbish. You and Scaly doing your bit to ensure CW isn't "globalised", that's for sure
Umm, I never insulted anyone, just agreeing that it's wrong. What am I meant to say. "Yes old chap comparing a game played on a massive surface with 7 players, to a game played on similar surface with many more is comparable".

I disagree, it was an odd, but interesting analogy. I welcome a different viewpoint, its refreshing. Yet it's clearly wrong in this instance, imo.

If you were to ask people what the nearest equivalent to 20/20 cricket is in rugby, 99.9% of people would say Sevens. To dismiss it as "silly", "bollocks" and "dire" to a guy who is new to the game is churlish to say the least.

I just said "silly", I stand by that tbh. It was our Romanian friend who brought rugby into the equation. TBF I find all rugby of every code excruciatingly dire and bollocks, so perhaps this isn't my argument.

Ok, was just a bit annoyed with Scaly's post really, not so much yours.

Yes, well I agree in a way, Scalys post was lacking utterly in tact, politeness or even a shred of human decency, but surely we expect that now, from our fave duramher. Yet he was right in his opinion on this issue, I feel.

I was making my point considering the abilities employed.
In Rugby union tries are more difficult to get, the game is very physical and kicking has a major place. In Rugby league speed gets some role and tries begin to matter most. In Sevens speed is highly favoured, tries rule the score and a good tackle is rain of flowers from heaven.
Now move this in cricket and see: Test - run rate slower, agressive bowling, tough endurance challenge. ODI - run rates a little higher, boundaries make an impact. Twenty-20 - run rates a lot higher, bowlers pray for wickets :)
as in rugby, i guess we'll see a specialisation of players in the three forms - it's beginning to happen anyway.
