I know some of you will be saying all you need to do in test cricket is win the toss. I can assure you, it's not true. There have been plenty of teams down the years who have lost matches after winning the toss. If Australia get the really big total as they are expected now, they need to win comprehensively to keep the toss brigade from getting on their case. I think a pitch doesn't change all that much the first three days anyway. In fact, it can get better to bat on the second and third day, and it's usually from the fourth day pitch starts to deteriorate appreciably. I think this pitch has some pace and carry and the Aussies with their extra pace and bounce will be very dangerous.

Dude, you posted this completely contradictory post less than a week ago.

ITest cricket and the huge advantage team batting first

t's a big problem in test cricket. It's not as big a problem in ODIs as it is in tests because of the much shorter length and the pitch doesn't wear out as much to have a massive impact on team batting second. In T20s, the toss barely plays a role as after as the pitch is concerned. In ODIs and T20s it's more scoreboard pressure rather than the pitch that impacts team batting second if team batting first gets a big total.

There was a bunch of lads at my school we just to call the toss brigade, though they weren't too fussed with the finer points of cricket
