Top 50 Greatest test batters

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Number of series averaging 50 (not counting single tests):
Tendulkar 37/66
Lara 17/35
Viv 14/29
Smith 17/36

Tendulkar is far ahead. Second would be Viv if we count WSC. Further proof his consistency problem is overrated.
The other interesting thing is that Smith who seems more consistent than Lara isn't that much so, but just maxes up more than Lara in high scoring series.

Viv is only bat in history who could average 50 plus in a bowling era with a SR of 70. He is exceptional.
Best thing about him is his ability to destroy any attack anywhere in any context, really didn't struggle with any type of bowling.

Yes. It's why I don't care his average is a few points lower than the rest. His match impact is much higher for less runs.

If I recall correctly the batsmen you don't rate as highly are

Hammond, Chappell and Punter?

Personally I think all 3 are clear of Dravid and reside between 10 and 15. Where do you have them?
I rate Punter very highly. Have him only behind Bradman and Smith among aussies. At around 12-13 for me. I have Dravid, Hammond and Chappell all in the 15-20ish range.

It really looked like Kimber wasn't much keen on the 50s and 60s
Nourse isn't 50s, and lowkey do not really understand on what account Nourse was not counted, only played top 2 sides and averaged 53 with weak support, long career and spread out brilliance, high performance against ATG bowling, didn't make wanker hundreds either.

Now let's do it vs teams with at least one great bowler. Great bowlers would be the following: Imran, Wasim, Waqar, McWarne, Walsh, Ambrose, Pollock, Murali, Steyn, Ashwin, Bumrah, Rabada, Trueman, Davidson etc.

Sachin: 11/66
Viv: 4/29
Lara: 5/35
Smith: 4/36.

Vs at least 2 great bowlers

Sachin has 1
Lara 2
Viv 1
Smith 1

You're wrong. Sachin has two series versus McWarne. Lara three.
