The Pacer checklist and Shaheen Shah

I really don't understand your obsession with him.

You should see him play more often.
nothing wrong with bharani's liking for him mate.

he's 18/19 idk and has shown some great assets in his bowling and obv needs experience. How many 16yos were bowling to warner and smudge? besides he had like 4 catches dropped of him and already banged a hattrick too. Maybe harani could be wrong maybe bharani could be right about his ceiling being higher then shaheen's

Which is why I said he is a reminder of Sami.

Lol.. I didn't see much of his bowling in New Zealand but I have seen him play most of the other times. Lets hope this injury is not too serious and he comes back being able to do everything he was before the injury as a bowler.

He should be careful not to get injured throwing willey nilly high fives. Very very shtupid indeed

That dude was pushing 26 at least.
The weird thing is that some of these guys seem to grow into their real age with time. Look at Afridi. He looked 23 when he dubuted (supposedly at the age of 16) looks in his 30s now when he is actually in his (late?) 40s.

Shaheen does look a fantastic talent. He bowled magnificently in NZ last season, if he'd had NZ's slip cordon behind the stumps he would've averaged sub-25.

There's a better chance of finding DB Cooper alive than figuring out Shahid Afridi's real age tbh

This better slip cordon thing is fast becoming a CW meme

Let's fisk this:

Height at 6'5 or over ✅
Guess this rules out Ray Lindwall, Keith Miller, Fred Trueman, Brian Statham, Wes Hall, John Snow, Dennis Lillee, Richard Hadlee, Andy Roberts, Michael Holding, Imran Khan, Malcolm Marshall, Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram, Dale Steyn, Pat Cummins etc etc etc
Average Pace over 140kph ✅
Nope. Operates a lot in the mid-high 130s and while I don't have averages on hand he wouldn't be averaging that much. As a rule bowlers are slower than you think.
Top Speed over 150kph ✅
In the PSL maybe. Tends to top out low-mid 140 in tests.
Good Leg muscles ✅
You've examined them personally?
Long arms for higher release point ✅
Bends torso over more for lower release point. Doesn't seem to be exceptionally high.
Ability to swing both ways ✅
Mainly a seam bowler with a little bit of leftie's inswing and the very odd one going the other way. Steyn didn't have an in swinger and McGrath rarely swung the ball at all, but they were successful enough.
Accuracy/Yorkers ✅
Unexceptional compared to other bowlers going around.
New Ball effective ✅
What an achievement! More like a basic requirement.
Says as much about the ineffectiveness of Pakistan's other bowlers. Cummins bowls 18 overs a match to 15 if you really want to run with that measure. IMO it's rubbish.
Death bowler ✅
Wouldn't say he's exceptional in that role at all. Not hard to find Pakistani fans complaining that he's not a good death bowler, though in my experience they complain about everything.
Shows signs of both aggressive and disciplined natures ✅
'Is an idiot, but not too much' like many fast bowlers.
Able to perform in any format he plays ✅
Is performing to your level in all formats that exceptional?
Is not a condition or home/away merchant ✅
Gonna need to improve those averages in Australia (39), England (52) and New Zealand (43) before this can be claimed.
Left handed variation ✅
Hate this logic. It's what makes Starc undroppable despite losing us matches.

yeah he was a class above his mates

naseem is somehow both under and overrated. At his age (23 is my guess) you can't really say anything other than a good bowling coach would turn him into a weapon. Not test class right now though.
