The Ordinary Draft

This is a fun draft idea I’ve been wanting to try here on CricketWeb. We’ve all seen drafts for the greats and the legends — but what about the other end of the spectrum?

The objective is simple:
Build the most ordinary XI possible. No all-time greats, no megastars — just players who were… fine. Reliable at times, forgettable at others, but never really world-class. The type of cricketer you might not remember until someone mentions them.

Format: ODI cricket.
Restrictions: None, except no obvious superstars.

Looking for signups.

How will the teams be judged? By how average/ordinary they are, or by how good they are compared to other teams? And how is "all-time greats/megastars" defined?

Build the most average ODI XI you can. Not elite, not terrible — just plain, ordinary.

Once all teams are drafted, everyone will rank them (best to worst, or worst to best). I’ll then calculate each team’s average ranking.

Finally, I’ll sort those averages — and the team that lands right in the middle wins.

As there is another draft going on now, I think you should accept the sign ups now, but start the draft only when that draft is finished.
This Draft is very very different from that one. Don't think there's any reason two can't be concurrent, since the basis of this draft is kinda minimum research.

We need at least 8 to get started — just 2 more to go!
Maximum is 10, so only a few spots left.

This draft is going to be awesome — don’t miss out!

It sounds really fun, but I don't have time unfortunately.

Lots of England and West Indies players from 92 - 2015 to get picked along with a few Zimbabweans and Bangladeshis. Not great, but not minnows.

You should consider joining. There is a wide pool of players available from all 12 Test-playing nations, and with a bit of research, you'll be able to make strong selections. Let me know if you're interested.

What about the non test playing nations that play ODIs including in WCs?
