Botham didn’t get the opportunity to bat in 2nd innings. Nothing against Mushtaq but Botham’s performance looks much better.

1st innings : Came at 51-3. He scored 121 and 2nd highest score was 92.
2nd innings : He scored 56. Wasim Raja scored 70 and Sarfaraz Nawaz scored 51.
1st innings : He took 5 wickets which includes 3 tailenders(Roberts, Garner & Inshan Ali). Imran took 4 wickets.
2nd innings : He took 3 wickets. So did Sarfaraz Raja and Wasim Raja.
Ian Botham
1st innings : Came at 57-4 and score then became 58-5. Scored 114 off 144 balls. 2nd highest score was 44.
1st innings : He took 6 wickets. Next best was Stevenson who took 2 wickets.
2nd innings : He took 7 wickets. John Lever took 3 wickets

He also played a stronger team and contributed valuable runs in both innings. Botham is better, I refute it was much better.

Laker had a lot of assistance with the pitch too. Feel like game saving moments that turn into winning contributions like Laxman or Botham's are better
