As was shown by the Ashes, whatever people tried to randomly pick was completely overshadowed by reality - Bairstow carrying a Just Stop Oil protestor to the boundary is still the most utterly bizarre.

2019 was actually a fairly drama free World Cup until literally the last 5 overs of it.

For all minor (and major) drama, controversies, oopsies, etc...

So far, India being the hosts, have done a fantastic job with setting the tone for the tournament. Ticket sales, scheduling, venue changes...
Surely the BCCI is just conspiring to kill 50 over cricket once and for all?

If this one isn't successful, I am certain there won't be a cup in 2031 because ICC/MCC are already considering putting a pause on the format.
