RENSHAW LEAVES THE BYE; LARKIN SIGNED

The BYE has come to terms on the release of Round 5 draft pick Matthew Renshaw.

The BYE wishes him the best in all of his future endeavours, even if he is a bit of a traitor.

Renshaw's position in The BYE squad has been filled by Sydney University and NSW opening batsman (and former Ireland representative), Nick Larkin.

Larkin has scored 494 runs at 49.40 in the Sheffield Shield this season, and averages 29.71 in 23 matches of First Class cricket. He is also regarded as the finest Future's League player of all time, having scored 1884 runs at 85.64 while representing both NSW and ACT/NSW Country.

The BYE welcomes Nick Larkin to the team, and hopes he doesn't **** off to play Tests for Ireland mid-season now that he's apparently good.

THE BYE SIGN SPONSORSHIP DEAL

The BYE has signed a name-and-shirt sponsorship deal with Australian oil and gas prospector, Byron Energy (ASX: BYE).

A company spokesperson was quoted as saying "Byron Energy loves plumbing the deepest of depths for questionable value, so when we saw The BYE's team list, we knew we had to secure naming rights and sponsorship. We didn't even have to pay them -- they signed up for a single share! That's even less than what we had to pay that random dude when we contaminated his backyard with lead. NERDS!"

The BYE's wicketkeeper-batsman BJ Watling, social media intern J. Douglas Sheahan Neesham, and leadership consultant #McBaz were happy to model the new design at their recently-renamed home ground, Splendour in the Oil Spill.

THE BYE ANNOUNCE TRIAL SQUAD

The BYE Chairman of Selectors, Mary the Horse, has released a 12-player squad for the first trial match of the CWPL season. The BYE is without their top four draft picks -- Yasir Shah, BJ Watling, Ben Stokes and Mohammad Amir -- as a result of Pakistan's ongoing ODI series against Australia, dodgy knees, a police investigation into gratuitous violence, and a police investigation into betting irregularities, respectively.

Nick Bertus, fresh off his Sheffield Shield debut for NSW where he outperformed a pair of foetuses, has been named twelfth man for this match. Noted foetus Rachin Ravindra has been selected in the side, along with at least three men old enough to be his father.

The trial match against the Koyal Kamplers kicks off on Friday at the Splendour in the Oil Spill ground. Tweet your support using the hashtag #BattleOfTheSriLankanDomesticKeepers or #CareCup2k23.

The squad is as follows:

  1. Wasim Jaffer
  2. Nick Larkin
  3. Rohit Sharma
  4. Mominul Haque
  5. Misbah-ul-Haq
  6. Rachin Ravindra
  7. Scott Kuggeleijn
  8. Tatenda Taibu
  9. Aizaz Cheema
  10. Malinda Pushpakumara
  11. Mohammad Asif

  12. Nick Bertus
