Implicitly this means people believe Ray Lindwall was a greater cricketer than Ian Botham which I struggle with

many people on this site have any ATG batsman or Bowler ahead of Ian Botham, Lindwall falling in the latter category.

and many people can be wrong. Ian Botham was a freak for a long time until he wasn’t. But he was a freak for long enough that he is an unequivocal ATG

Dude, that's bullshit. Have Botham>Gavaskar if you want to, but Botham being Anderson level confuses me on whether you are overrating Botham significantly or underrating Anderson.
Near Anderson level. Please read again.

Just a reminder, Botham until 1987 would have been considered a better bowler than Anderson.

It's only because of his historically bad last 14 tests that he gets downgraded below.
Kohli until 2020 would have been considered better than Root too... But look how that turned out

Broad post-2011 India series took 500 wickets @ 25, definitely world class imo.
Never had that impression in the 2010s that Broad was anything but a good bowler and a very good one on song. But not in the Anderson Steyn Rabada class.
