The one with the better average, better strike rate, higher WPM, far higher ratio of 5-fers, and far less dependence on a new ball to take wickets.

Wagner can bowl on any wicket and can do things other bowlers can't... like bowl 10 overs of bouncers. Never gets the new ball even though he is a lovely swing bowler. Has great stamina and a big heart.

Tough one. Obviously very different styles of bowlers playing very different roles in their respective sides. Wagner's stats have a bit of an advantage over Broad's because he doesn't play in Asia much. Wagner definitely the more consistent while Broad more likely to steamroll the opposition on his day. Who I'd pick for my XI would probably depend on the makeup of the rest of the bowling attack. If the side didn't have a good spinner (as has tended to be the case for NZ and England sides over the past 8 or 9 years) I'd probably pick Wagner, but it's close.

Not Terrible
Broad pips it narrowly for me, sorta like how I'd argue Southee or Boult is more valuable than Wagner as a match winner. There isn't a lot in it and Wagner is a great player but getting into the middle order in the first spell of a Test is just too good to ignore.

Poor Stuart Broad, stuck with 2 world records that may hang around for a very long time.
And to think that 2nd record he was owned by a number 10, he must feel so ashamed deep down.

Norwood's on Fire
I’m sure all the wickets compensate for a couple of bad overs when he goes to bed at night

Stuart Broad's longevity shades it for me ...Also winning series in South Africa and Australia and playing a big part in them stands out ...

As much as I love Broady it is a stretch to say he played a big part in winning in Australia
