Even when he is doing yoga. The man who averages less than 14 against every opponent, less than 15 in every place and averaged less than 18 in every series is the GOAT.

Great response, but I hope you realize that he was nothing close to Barnes. The man who averages less than 14 against every opponent, less than 15 in every place and averaged less than 18 in every series is the GOAT.

He wasn't even seen as better than Spofforth or Turner was he?Lohmann I believe.
Better than Turner, but not better than Spofforth. He wasn't even seen as better than Spofforth or Turner was he?
Elaborate.Even when he is doing yoga.
Why he is not close?, his bowling srike rate is lowest in test cricket history.Great response, but I hope you realize that he was nothing close to Barnes.
He was great. It's just that he got those numbers against weaker teams. Why he is not close?, though his bowling srike rate is lowest ever in test cricket.
He bowled on some landmines, the bowling average in his games is 16.78, the bowlers other than him are averaging 18.15, in Ashes tests his average is 13.01 and the rest of the bowlers are averaging 17.32, probably a great bowler but certainly not close to Barnes. Why he is not close?, though his bowling srike rate is lowest ever in test cricket.
Yeah, him and Turner are very close; mere checklisting won't say that. Spofforth was seen universally as a better bowler. He bowled on some landmines, the bowling average in his games is 16.78, the bowlers other than him are averaging 18.15, in Ashes tests his average is 13.01 and the rest of the bowlers are averaging 17.32, probably a great bowler but certainly not close to Barnes.
Do you even realize that Barnes was from a completely different era? Or you just look at their black and white pictures to put them in one group?Spofforth. Lohmann. Barnes.
They may have been greats then but they should not even be compared to modern bowers in my opinion.
His pose.Elaborate.
Oh I thought you meant something serious lol.His pose.
From Coronis:Barnes cannot be put with Spofforth or Lohmann, completely different era.
for reference, How much further other ATG bowlers are than their peersHe bowled on some landmines, the bowling average in his games is 16.78, the bowlers other than him are averaging 18.15, in Ashes tests his average is 13.01 and the rest of the bowlers are averaging 17.32, probably a great bowler but certainly not close to Barnes.
Trumble was having a peak during Barnes's "era" and that era is highlighted because Barnes played 3 games in a timeframe that overlapped with Trumble's career, Trumble's career stats are 21.56 even tho played on even more bowling friendly wickets than Barnes. Blythe is fair but he's not rated as highly because he was average on good batting wickets in Australia. Sensational bowler at home tho. From Coronis:
Barnes 16.43
Others in his era
Blythe 18.63
Trumble 18.67
I guess it does take some of the luster off from Barnes if there is another exceptionally averaged bowler in that era.Trumble was having a peak during Barnes's "era" and that era is highlighted because Barnes played 3 games in a timeframe that overlapped with Trumble's career, Trumble's career stats are 21.56 even tho played on even more bowling friendly wickets than Barnes. Barnes is about 3-5 points ahead of his peers, pretty similar amount as Steyn is ahead of his peersI guess it does take some of the luster off from Barnes if there is another exceptionally averaged bowler in that era.
